I still can't believe Wests forced/let him leave. Crazy. Well done to Norths on getting him - no doubt Phil would have had a few options on the table.

Let's hope that his appointment leads to improvements in Norths senior teams (they have always been strong in juniors). QPR needs all clubs to be competitive, and Norths showed some improvements this season I think early on so maybe they can build on this and attract some key players to strengthen their seniors.

Please check your source, he/they are incorrect. Best way to solve this is name Crowley's candidates who were apparently elected on the board as requested by Frank Row earlier? That should answer the question.
All is now clear.
This is from MY SOURCE:
There were two attempts.
ATTEMPT 1
In an effort to address the declining on and off field performance a group including Dan nominated for the Committee to be elected at the 2022 AGM. However, Dan withdrew his nomination before the meeting. At the shit fight 2022 AGM about three of the group were elected. They recommended ideas and reforms that were rejected by the continuing Committee members with the help of 1 or 3 from outside the Committee. The group eventually all resigned disillusioned.
ATTEMPT 2
After the 2022 AGM shit fight and before the 2023 AGM another group of rugby and business savvy old boys (with significant confirmed support) including Dan got together.
The group approached the Committee and suggested a friendly take-over. This was rejected by the Committee with continued further advice from 1 or 3 outside the Committee. The group did not nominate and left the Committee to continue with its own disillusionment.

CONCLUSION
What is now happening?
A once great club is deteriorating both on and off the field managed by a delusional Committee with no club member prepared to challenge them.

It's colts but Sio Kite to coach Wests Prem Colts, with Mason Gordon as his assistant

Interesting. Despite sources at GPS confirming that Sio was sacked and wouldn't be there in 2026, his own social media post saying farewell references him taking a break from coaching as the reason he was leaving GPS.

Good luck to him but definitely some strange hirings and firings happening at the kennel. Not sure replacing Mooney, a winning coach, with a bloke who has really struggled to coach top level footy is the answer.

didn't he get a prem colts premiership a few years ago with your lot?

What does Elwee have? 1 premiership from a 4 year premiership window is not a great return in my mind given the cattle that he had in that time.
Good luck to Phil but seeing him in a Norths polo breaks my heart given he has Wests blood running through his veins - traditional rugby & family values are so important to a community club and Wests have pushed a valued Bulldog Family identity out the door - I have resisted to now but all I can say is shame on you to those responsible for that decision. As I have said before same goes for pushing Scott Harrison out the door as well. Shame, shame, shame!!!

Fair re Colts - I'm referring to the last 2 seasons coaching 1st grade.

The 2025 season in particular is one of the worst in recent history, not just from the Win-Loss record but the margins and losses at Yoku were extremely disappointing.

Regardless of which way you cut it, Wests have canned their premiership winning coach for someone who hasn't seen much success recently which is a strange move.

"Taking a break", "focusing on family", and "the time is right for a new adventure" are probably more palatable for everyone involved when a coaching change is made.

Maybe he's a better coaching fit earlier in the development of players and will go well at Wests now that he's back to coaching Colts. Who knows?

Won't be an easy run at Wests - coming off a Premiership, their premiership coach going to another club and the Doggies throwing money at more Colts recruits. They'll be expecting success.

Anyway enough about that, see what we are saying about it in August next year.

Matt Cockbain confirmed GPS coach.

Pretty good interview he gives on the socials. I like the honesty addressing a lack of key players in several positions that will need to be recruited. Also when asked about the new academy program he pretty much says yeh it’s good but not expecting anything to come from it for a couple of seasons so don’t expect big things just yet.

Refreshing honesty and I hope the club gives him the right resources to succeed.
