Crichton is 30 next year and hasnt played rugby for 12 years. As we saw with Tepai Moroa it is hard to change back and go from a league forward to rugby back. If he does play it will be Japan, not for $150k here.

Lynagh is also more suited to providing structure to a team. Where Carter would provide more value when the game breaks down and gets loose

If he isn't no.1, then I'd happily bet he'd still be top 3. Nick White was 33 at the last WC and just started at 35 (as our 3rd stringer) in one of the best Wallaby victories in recent memory. Mcdermott will be 32 at the 2031 WC. Perfect.
