Wallabies 2025

One off game v a decent season of games (unless you just mean a parachute into the World Cup and none of the training/squad/other games?)
I meant parachuted into the World Cup tournament. Particularly a bigger forward. For instance this year I would have tried to call up lehopa leota at tight head.

SMH reporting that we will host France, Italy and Ireland mid-next year

We will play Scotland, England and Wales in Europe at the end of next year

Would've been good to play Scotland here, it feels like we've hosted them less than the other UK nations/France

Highly unlikely but check out the rankings if the Aussies get another 16+ point win next week

jeez thats a big fall for the boks. Is it so big because Aus were so far down the rankings?
Yep. Based on the points differential. Bigger differential the more points the higher team loses capped at 3.

Home teams are also have their points bumped up, and you also lose more points it you lose by 16+

You can see all possible outcomes at the bottom of the games in the screenshot above. Left to right
Home Team win 16+
Home Team win
Draw
Away Team win
Away team win 16+

Call it what it is, reports of Wallabies demise were grossly exaggerated.
They were very real at the time though. The thumping by Wales to take us out of the 2023 WC and put us at #10 did feel like rock bottom though, and the requisite reset was promptly forthcoming. I think the bigger concern was about the future of the code in this country, but with some cash in the bank post lions, a resurgent Wallabies, and a couple of World cups being hosted here, the future certainly feels pretty good right now.

The bend don't break style does not work at the elite level. Teams are too good at retaining possession and they will score or at least get an advantage that never ends and lead to points or a YC.

You need to attack with the defence. Sure, you risk an error but you also force errors and opportunities for counter attacks. Take away as much time as you can from the attack, make them feel under siege.

I don't reckon it would take that long to fix tbh. We seem to fix it mid game when we've had jack of playing the waiting game.

Which seems to be a call from Schmidt during the game to fuck off the plan from midweek in defence and get going.
Yeah, seems it. But it probably gives me hope that someone like Kiss will be able to come in and build off what Schmidt has in place whilst getting someone (anyone) to create a more proactive defensive system.

The other issue was the game's core fanbase jumping on the Swans/Lions AFL bandwagon when rugby struggled.

Whether we got those fans back I am not sure.

Iv'e always held the opinion they follow when they win and chant but drift back to old faithful when it goes bad. Best job in the world coaching the Swans. Glory when good but a long leash when shit because the locals don't care as much as Vic, SA, WA.

Wallabies v Argentina will have the Swans scarf swapped out for the Wallabies one. Same Chinos and RMs

Now that the Swans have no chance of making the finals, it will be interesting to see if they experience Sydney losing interest. yesterday's crowd of 37k is pretty solid - and the result was as expected.

They’ve built a solid club who in all likelihood will make a gf in the next few years again if recent history proves accurate. Fans are proud of them.

Would take a few years of bottom of the ladder for it to dwindle.

At the same time, there is definitely correlation between the Wallabies shifting to a rush defence and how well we have been playing.

The passive defensive line we ran last year and against Fiji was just shown up time and time again.
We seem to start out without a rush defense though.

Both the BIL test 3 and on the weekend. We then seemed to start rushing after around 15-20 minutes (or so i thought)
