Wallabies v Lions Game 2 MCG 26 July

Enough nonsense lads & ladettes, it’s game day.

Melbourne is bleak & balls cold, it’s grim and grey and proper rugby rugby weather. Worse than the cold is the city being covered with the British. Fair play to them, they’re in the spirit and seem to be perpetually drunk.

Hard to estimate but looks like 80% sold.

I’ve been pessimistic the whole series but today I’m feeling good. Backs against the walls, Lions cocky. Their favourite son, Sione, injured. We have returning troops, all the boys have watched Salakaia-Loto show them the way, just wallop the fluffybunnys. Probably means we’ll get red carded in the first 10.

We all know the Rebels would’ve won their match so time for the Wallabies to honour them.

Russell is due for a rocks match, I’m sick of consistent diamonds.

Wallabies to win it with a kick after the siren.

we need a 10, a strong 10, a manly 10, a 10 who looks his pigs in the eye and says "fuck off, im the captain"

When I lived there, many years ago, I had an old renovated flat in Armadale with an open fireplace!! Wonderful on a wintry day, with a bottle of decent port.
i'm sydney born/raised and 71 years later i still loathe going there; much prefer the cbd and inner suburbs of melbourne; brisbane far too humid and hot; adelaide pretty as (most of it) but dry
it would be nice if Dctarget's last post came to fruition

Just got in. How the fuck do people live here?
I often wonder this when travelling to hot places. Brisbane is way too hot and humid in summer in my opinion.
Anywhere you need an air conditioner to sleep is too hot for me. Love the cold and rain, though my family was Irish so maybe my genes are calling for the homeland ha

I like our chances tonight. The big thing we needed to fix from last week, bending the line, will be helped enormously by the inclusions in the pack. If we can get some go forward and the defence on their heels (or drawing them offside and the ref actually calls it) the backs should have enough pill to create enough chances. We'll need to be accurate at the breakdown and keep the ball in their half through the boot.

Do these things and I say we win. Go get 'em boys.

Stepped on my train from suburb to Jolimont and don't see anyone wearing rugby stuff. Though many casual "going because it's a big event" Melbourne people won't have bought merchandise.
