Grover - Geros cannot wait to see both young man develop. Grover has not been challenged, but feel Geros is definitely up for the challenge! Watching replays, he played around today. Definitely quicker than Grover.

From what you saw
from what I saw and who I presume are in the PONI squad, if Lemoto has been ruled out, the schools1 #8 surely would now be part of the PONI squad. NSW schools #6 would be a good inclusion in the Squad also. Dempsey will have impressed for sure. Out of the lineout for most of the games, there was the consistency of over throws from all hookers. This leads me to think it is more of a jumping issue rather than the throw itself. In terms of throwing it straight I would lean towards the schools 1 hooker Smith.
What you saw,….hahaha you need to take off your biased spectacles. You are actually quite facetious if you are not aware. Be fare if you are to put forth an opinion. Beginning to think you are a parent with a child in this PATHETIC PONI SQUAD.

Does Hasani have much more growing? Doesn’t see to have grown much at all over the last few years and if Sheck can return he would likely be the preferred right head at Tahs I think. . Possibly needs to change from tight head to hooker? If that is the case Smith would still be ahead of him though in terms of skill at that position.
This comments of yours here reeks of ENVY towards Bloomfield my friend hahaha BRO cover it a bit better. Been reading your past comments. You have something against Bloomfield. Your name gives you away.

I wonder why the French would choose Bloomfield over Sheck. Bloomfield is the perfect height for a TH. Since when did a TH has to to be 6’4?
Lets be honest. They will probably have eyes on both of them.

Go to All.Rugby and look up French Club squads and in the Academy/Espoires it's littered with Aus kids.

First one I look at was Stade Francais Paris and they have 3 Aus 20 year olds including a 6'4 128kg Prop.

Ahhh I am aware of Lehopo who was one of our best young TH that the French has snatched. There’s Kite also will probably be the next Skelton(kid is taller than Skelton). A couple straight from Tonga. I’ll check that now.

My comments around TH heights was more a question of since when did we needed to have 6’4ft props? Ala'alatoa, Tupou, Amone, Botha they are not 6’4? Sure, nothing wrong with having tall props but it is not a requirement for front rowers.

How tall does a TH has to be mate? Hahaha Tamaiti Williams is the tallest TH atm. Hasani is taller than Tupou and Amone the Tahs TH?
was more referring to filling out rather than height. I know its a while ago, and maybe my memory is not what it used to be, but I remember him as being more solid. Granted, I do believe now he is more mobile which i see as a positive but will others tight heads be given preference purely due to a larger all round body shape such as Shec for example. There are pros and cons to both I suppose and would depend on the make up of future teams.

Bloomfield looked overweight before IMO. Since he joined Kings they trimmed him back he still move and scrum. The non negotiable for a prop he can do. My theory is, Sheck, Viliamu has been unlucky with injuries because they carry too much weight at 17. They will grow into their body eventually but do not need to be 120+ at 17! Sheck IS THE TH! HE IS A WEAPON But as another member mentioned earlier, HE NEEDS TO BE ON THE FIELD!

If you watched the SR16s we all saw what Scheck can do. He's devastating when fit. Natural size helps him develop the technical facets which will take him a long way when you play men who are all physically strong.

Can see it with Langi in the 20s at the moment. He's a mountain but very raw technically and it's no doubt due to his time playing lock at Kings. He just doesn't have the minutes in him yet.

I’m assuming you are recalling Sheck’s performance in the U18 Tahs this year. He was a weapon! Ripped Uys to pieces in their scrum. Unfortunately Sheck missed out on SR16 season due to injuries. Kotarac was the prop that was a weapon in the SR16. Front rowers are positions that I believe we do not rush. They do not peak until their 20’s - 23 onwards IMO

Yep must be mixed up. Thanks for the clarification.

I think I saw Kotarac's name in the CIS League lists which sucks but also think he's physically more suited to Rugby so hopefully someone can get in his ear about that.

100! Kotarac needs to be in Union. Interesting your comments on Langi and how he played lock for Kings. There is another player also at Kings who is a front rower but is currently playing Lock for their 1st XV, Hamish Matthews, HE IS A UNIT same height as Sheck I believe. Because he’s playing lock, he hasn’t been scrumming as a front rower and when he played in the GPS 2 this year it showed. He is a very strong ball carrier and a great defender. It’s probably why he was overlooked. Hopefully next year, he will finally get to play in the front row for Kings when Lavercombe graduates.

Does anyone know what rep teams are now formed. Is the rest of tahs u18 picked from this comp and they join the PONI's? Or did they pick an "AUS Schools" and/or "AUS Barbs" side/s which play against the AUS u18 "PONI" squad?

Rod McCall (65)
Won't they pick the Aus 18s from the PONI group + selections from the Schools Champs.

From what is left they will pick Australian School and then Aus Barbarians.

Aus U18s traditionally have played NZ Schools while Aus Schools and Barbarians play some of the Pacific Islands and Japan tour in years gone by.

I just think you need time in the position from both a technical and physical perspective.

It's different stressors on the back/neck in the front row to lock. These only develop through packing live scrums. It can happen but you are starting behind someone who has solely been in the Front Row.
