Ok everyone.
The AAGPS tipping comp is up again.

I am once more happy to do this job. I have time on my hands as I am now medically retired.
In the past this has been a lot of fun and each year we see winners come from many backgrounds.
Last year it was a schoolboy who won (won't reveal the school)

Would like to participate this season.
Entries close on WEDNESDAY before round 1.
Just reply with an indication of wanting to join.

There are limited places again this.
In 2025 I am though deleting tippers who miss three rounds in a row.
When this happens I will invite those who missed out to join and they will start with the points of the deleted tipper.

TIPPING COMPETITION. How does this work?

For those new here I hope this explains this.

With only three games each week I devised a system where players can score more
This is achieved by using margins.
Various margins are worth points.

Points break down.

Lose- 0

Win- 3 points if your margin is BELOW +5 of the final score

Win- 5 points if your margin is ABOVE and WITHIN the +5

Win- 10 points you pick the margin exactly

DRAW- 20 points If you select a draw

The following members chose the following. Here is how they scored

Headbutt- chose Scots +25 (0 points)

Guppy- chose High +10 (3 points, a win but below the margin)

Muppet- chose High +26 (5 points, win within +5 of the margin)

Fluke- chose High +22 (10 points, win with the exact margin)

Maximum you can score in one week is 30 points. These margins come in handy as you can run down leaders or make a break. Plus is you fail to get your tips in you are given by default the away teams with no margin.

Tips are taken by PUBLISHING them here with a post. I will endeavor to have them added by 3:15pm on Saturday.

Looks like a death wish...

Should be a great first round of the GPS with shore hosting Joey's at the Bridge, should be a real test of depth and the strength of the GPS comp teams that the defending premiers have.

Lots of injuries at Joeys, depth will certainly be tested....roughly a whole team on the sidelines this weekend, and some injuries season ending. Probably affecting 2's the most, but the players coming in will no doubt step up

Waves likewise after their tough tour to NZ, they ran into 2 very strong NZ schools, probably no surprise there, Waves won both physical games.
Their most experienced and gun no 8 Finegan is out, but that does give another boy a big chance to play Joeys at Joeys.
No excuses at all, just hope the weather holds and these 2 schools can play their usual running rugby games.

Someone have a word with the canteen. 2024 was a dark year for the canteen as they stopped selling the best reason to travel to windswept Stirling Bridge.....the pies! I was so upset I had to go to hospital....really.

Not to worry, I've heard from some inside sources that the Pies, sausage rolls and donuts will be making a return in 2025 as they are undoubtedly the highlight of coming to the bridge.
