CAS Rugby 2025

CAS overall looks a lot stronger this year. Could they beat GPS when those games roll around? Would be quite impressive.
Barker and Waves looking very strong, Knox is still the unknown but have some top-notch footballers like Orr. I think the CAS forwards will be their strength this season but size in the backs may be an issue.

Yes CAS came close the last two years, hopefully this year is the year, but will know more after the trials.

A backrow of Orr, Finegan and TJ is pretty formidable.

What comp does Kings Christian College play in?
They play on the Gold Coast in what is called the APS (Association of Private Schools) it is a very weak competition generally only 2 decent teams Kings & Somerset College.
They generally have some good players who then get pinched in yr 11 & 12 to one of the Brisbane GPS programs. Todays Kings team featured last year's Qld u16 halfback (who played 10 today) and the 2023 Qld u16 Hooker. Both boys have had multiple offers to move to a GPS school but have stayed with their mates at Kings.

Cranbrook beat them today by at least 45 points, Cranbrook were pretty disappointing this Kings side would be the standard of one of the lower ISA teams.

Their front row was pretty good, there 4 & 6 also quite good. The backline was pretty pedestrian, 12/13/14 were the best. In fairness to both teams it had been bucketing down rain all day, the side of field between to 15m line and touch line was ankle deep in water.

I can't see Cranbrook causing Knox/Barker/Waverley any issues.
