I liked Ashgrove’s run and gun style of play. There’s the makings of a decent footy team. Downlands’ 3 tries came from a cross field kick, an intercept and a runaway try from a Marist turnover. As I said last week, just need a 10 who can effectively link what the forwards and backs are doing.

Realistically you get an unbiased ref and kick for touch (that’s all the downies did) Marist would make the downies tremble of the wrath of their smelly feet,

From who I've spoken to Marist Defense on there own try line was huge. They had been in structured to not kick so didn't exit when they had the chance not sure if this is going to be a run it at all costs style of play for the year or if it is just what they are doing in trials.

other comments I've been told.

Downlands set piece was dominant.
Marist Fitness looked an issue late in the game.

After watching an internal trial from most schools so far and previous knowledge in no order: Damon Humphries, Will Ross, Fononga Tuitahi, Elliot Aldridge, Seb Gardiner, Connor Quinn, Luka Smith, Sean Green, Jack Breuer and Xav Howard.

Any info from the SPLC v CHAC game on Wednesday?

Also, doubt any trials will go ahead on the main fields, a lot of rain due to fall in the next 24hrs.

The Padua boys have been told that even with this rain their trial against Iona will still go ahead at this stage.

Liam O'Callaghan (SLC) and a kid from Padua, Harlem Faalafi plays 13 and in the reds, system looks real good for their 16's side

Yeah Theo Knight (Second Row) and Archie Searle (loose forward/ hooker) both are big losses for the forward pack. They do have a bit of depth but those 2 were certain starters.
