Heard the unfortunate news that Cooper Brown (Year 12 at St Laurence's) will be out for the season after undergoing foot surgery. This however presents Laurie's with an opportunity to act out the 'Next man up' mentality, with rumors that Luka Smith 2024 prop is set to slot right into the backline. With his incredible ball skills and underrated speed for such a big unit Smith could be damaging running crash balls and could cause carnage against opposition teams. Will this gamble pay off? We will soon find out.

As Always,

Luka smith has the ball skills of a hippo and the kicking skills of a In danger white rhino, there is no way he can make an impact in the backline

Only 2 more rounds of AFL. Before we get some trials and can see who is looking good for the season ahead other then just on paper.

who would you say are the teams that are looking good on paper?

This would be my current prediction on the table, from what i've seen of the of these age groups over the past few years

1. Padua
2. Marist
3. St Laurence's
4. Iona
5. Villa
6. St Pat's
7. Eddies
8. Peter's

I think Eddie's are being doubted here they have some great returning talent like Patty 'the pie' Albion and Jack 'brewski' Breuer they have a pack to rival teams like St Laurence's, Padua and Iona especially if you think Luka Smith is moving to the centers despite being a natural front rower, Will Ross is only one man and Iona's pack will just be league players who don't know their way around the ruck.

Don't underestimate the Iona pack, they will have a strong scrum again. Their big issue will be Marist in round 1 into Padua in round 2. They could win both and be the front runner.

The 4178 scrum may have solid foundations but in my opinion it simply lacks the sheer force necessary to withstand the unstoppable power of Seb "the aquaman" Gardiner. His combination of brute strength and near-mythical ability to push through any defensive structure with his nose makes him a feared opponent.

Here's another prediction from the kokkinator,

Will 'Homonculous' Ross, Will be one to watch. The man is a human Tri-Pod, However the question remains will the undersized front row of Padua be able to effectively lift Ross and his three legs in the lineouts. We will soon find out.

Couldn't agree more The Aquaman might be one of the best loose forwards the AIC has ever seen, he absolutely is the best at the moment the closest to him is Liam O'Callaghan, who I think is still just miles off his ability and tikka, Ashgrove will be delighted to have him back.

Big trial game this weekend with Ashgrove set to take on Ashgrove at Everton Park. Bold prediction but I think Ashgrove will get the job done in what is set to be a thriller. Will be interesting to see how the boys from the 4060 perform. Who will step up? Who will present a case for first XV selection? We will soon find out.

Gardener is your typical 7. Gets his nose in everything.

With Big Leon Lane as the loose head at 6.3 100kg and a national level discus and shot putter they shouldn't have any issues getting Rossy sky high.

Surely 2nds prop James Chapman will make a case, after a big contribution from Rueben Downes last year, Chappy must be the one to follow on from his brilliant work in the front row.

Will be interesting to see who come out on top at 10 for Marist, between brothers boy Oliver Condon and the kid for SA Daniel Londema

100kg at 6'3 is not very heavy for a front rower, would like to see him in the back row depending on his fitness levels

Elliot Aldridge is a shout for this position he has gained a lot of size since he last appeared in year 10 and considering Ashgrove's smaller side he might be the perfect fit.
