CAS Rugby 2023

I cannot agree with this team.

Knox were the better team in the comp by a long shot (every statistic shows this too) and just had an off day against Waverley. Knox only lost 1 game all year and trounced every other team.

Waverley were lucky and had the run of the green that day. It would have been much more fair for it to be Joint premiers.
Salty... How many times did this generation of Knox players beat Waverley?

@WLF3 feel free to enlighten us.

Knox v Barker is never a dead rubber, as seen in the celebrations afterwards.

Knox must see this season as one that got away. A great team all year that had an off day against Waves. In a one round comp, that's all that it takes.

I guess some consolation that half the team marches on with Gen Blue and Aus Schoolboy duties. Waves players free to focus on studies.

I love a good bacon and egg roll or steak roll at school rugby.
Oakhill has been the best so far although I didn't try the coffee as I am not a risk taker when it comes to coffee
So far my rating on schools this year (only 3 away games so far)...
Riverview was average and expensive.
Barker was good value for money but that was up at Cliff Oval so don't know about in the school itself.
Will report back next week on what Trinity has to offer this weekend
On this note, i was at the knox game on saturday (dissapointing result for barker) however i did get to try the barbeque. So here is my review. First of all i ordered the classic sausage sizzle. It was a classic sausage sizzle with the choice of onion and tomato sauce. The combo including a drink of which i chose gold rush powerade cost me 7$. I price i dont mind paying but is not the best price nor the worst. I rate the bun a solid 6, a bit dry however quite palletable and chewy but not too chewy. i rate the sausage a 6/10 as well. The onion was a 7/10. Overall 6.2/10 decent but slightly over priced for what your paying for but understandable as they need to pay for all the knox scholarships.

Leave the "Scholarship" discussion alone please.
It adds nothing, and will only lead to posters getting a rest and / or the thread being closed.

Knox didn't even look like they were close to winning that game. You could tell they just weren't ready to play against the best CAS team
I may be very wrong; but was it simply a case of Knox paying the price of not playing on the last weekend of school holidays (meaning they didn't play for 3-4 weeks) before playing away at Waverley?? Went into that game far too cold?

Understand but the game Waverley played leading into the Knox game against the NZ team had 13 out of 15 starters not playing so would hardly count it as a game at all tbh.

Seems people on here can't handle that Waves won.

Did not know that W rested players for that game, fair enough then

End of the day you have to put points on the board and Waverley did that and Knox didn't. And that means they deserve the trophy.

Think it's a bit rich to say that Knox didn't look like winning however.
There was a phase early on in both halves where Knox were camped on Waverley's line with the forwards dominating. In each case got 5+ penalties straight and kicked for touch and line out. Ultimately for no points, even with a yellow card in the 2nd half during which Waverley scored a breakaway try from a kick.

Had Knox taken even half the penalties, or got over the line, very different result.

Yeah yeah Waverley 1's, 2's and 3's were good, but what about the mighty 4's. Never disappoint those blokes. Showed some real grit and determination throughout the season ending with a massive win and even an a bit of a kerfuffle in the last game. In the words of NRL Guru - "The boys could be anything". Uppa Waves and Stock 13+.

Yeah watched that last fixture between Trinity and Waverley and would like to point out Ruben Stock's pilf power as well as the link up between Tobias Neilsen and Darcy Standfield a proper 8,9,10 combo

Is there another cas game this week or is it over ?
Yep CAS rugby season over. Schools moving into athletics and/or transitioning into the summer season.

For the rugby, there might be a few more reps games later in the year I believe for those with Gen Blue...?

The Knox boys and coaches all admitted Waves got it right on the day and they didn't. No sour grapes just disappointment they let a great season go to waste. Congrats to Waves.
A two round comp would mean the return fixture would've been huge though.
