Best 10 on the planet?

Best 10 on the planet?

Here’s a post emailed in from Lloyd Perry, written by his brother.

The Wallabies were great belting the Barbarians and the Italians. It’s exciting for so many reasons:

1. Giteau has finally settled the debate about where his best position is, he is now Australia’s and the world’s best fly-half.

2. Our forward back is the strongest it’s been for 10 years, although we will be in trouble if we lose a second rower to injury.

3. We finally have express pace in the back three, not just centres installed on the wing because there is no room for them elsewhere

4. Our midfield kicking is much better, between Giteau and Barnes we have the left/right footed combo and better still they’re intelligent kickers. And because we have legitimate wingers on the wings, we, by default,  have much better kickers back there.

As for Tuqiri, I almost feel sorry for him, he’s not as slow as it’s being made out it’s just that it takes him longer to get wound up. Our current options (Hynes, Turner, Mitchell and Ioane) are explosive, they hit top speed in two or three steps, it means any late changes of direction and/or slight increases of speed so much tougher to defend against – if you doubt this just watch footage of Larkham in his prime, he did it every game…. He’d amble up to the defensive line and then he’d take off, the defense was a millisecond to slow in the tackle and be break through them because they were slightly mis-timed. He was the master.

Are you feeling the love as well?
