We should add a "worst Wallaby" thread to that for best Wallaby. Last night:

3. Mitchell
2. Smith

Hyne was involved quite heavily from what i watched, his actually a very busy wing getting involved heavily in defence and rucks, i remember on two occasions he shut down overlaps by heavy tackles on the inside man

3. Chisolm
2. Mitchell
1. Smith

I think the wingers not being heavily involved has more to do with Giteau hogging the ball and making crap decisions. There were times where if Giteau spread the ball wide players like Mitchell would have been in the position to probably beat a man and score a try.

What are you guys on? The worst Wallaby thread? wtf?

Giteau probably should've distributed a bit more but kicked like a champion all game
Ioane didn't have a blinder but offered more than Cross ever has
Mitchell was 10x more involved than usual and turned in a brain fartless performance

It would be nice to see Horwill and Chisholm sort their shit out though

Well it's all relative, rsea. If there are "best" there must also be "worst".
None of them were really crap.

same with hynes for mine.

I thought Hynes was excellant, great work off the ball and support play
I agree. Sometimes wingers get harshly marked 'cos they aren't scoring, and if they've had plenty of chances then fair enough. But if they get crumbs, as Hynes did, then all they can do is the stuff he usually does well, as fp says.

Giteau is a black hole in attack. He is where running rugby goes to die. No wonder Larkham spent 3 years throwing cut out passes to Mortlock.

We won't beat Ireland or Wales if our flankers repeat that lack of effort.

Elsom was also very good in defense. He made some mighty covering tackles that a bloke his side just shouldn't make. Also, while Smith wasn't snaffling ball, he did put in some huge tackles and was generally making a nuisance of himself. Threw some veyr nice passes too. So, I'd go for

3. Chisholm
2. Alexander

None of these played particularly badly but Chis was a bit quiet, Alexander gave away a number of silly penalties in the first half that slowed our momentum and Mitchell is just on the list to make up the numbers because he was a bit quiet.

Elsom had a good 2nd half but was terrible in the 1st he was also responsible for letting the poms regather the short kick offs down the middle.

Pocock to start next week?

I've seen a number of people make this ludicrous statement. I would like to see better quality work from Horwill and Chisholm. However they are having to do far too much work that the flankers should be doing. Too often you could see Chisholm arrive at the breakdown in disbelief that none of his teammates were contesting before showing them how its done. I'm concerned that Horwill & Chisholm are going to wear down from having to do too much in the loose.

Ioane?

Under a replay microscope he no-doubt made a coupla errors, but watching live at the ground it was obvious that him, Palu and Genia were the power supply for the WBs. He doesn't have to win every game single-handedly (like he did for the Reds last year) but while trying he sure leads by example.
