WORLD SCHOOLS RUGBY CHALLENGE 2017
From the 16th to the 23rd of April, 2017, Canberra will host the 1st World Schools Rugby Challenge. The 2017 World Schools Rugby Challenge is open to all high schools and clubs across the world, the only requirement is that the players be aged between 13 and 18. The Challenge includes four days of games, two rest days, two educational lectures and two semi-formal functions.
The 2017 World Schools Rugby Challenge offers a unique sporting, cultural and educational experience, as the students meet individuals from all over the world, learn about different cultures, enjoy playing rugby in a leading rugby centre and experience the impressive capital city of Australia, Canberra.
The objectives of the World Schools Rugby Challenge:
• To encourage participation and development of youth rugby within clubs, high schools and the educational system.
• To assist promising club and high school rugby players to continue to develop their skills on the field in friendly competition with players throughout the rugby world.
• To provide a solid base for young rugby players to plan their rugby future.
• To provide educational opportunities and experiences for students with an interest in rugby.
• To promote the enjoyment and qualities of rugby as a recreational alternative for youth regardless of their rugby abilities.
• To promote the traditional values of rugby through international competition in attractive rugby and educational destinations.
