Formula 1 is a terrible 'sport' not worthy of a single viewer.

However, netball is on the up in a big way and i'm not at all surprised to see it surpass many male dominated sports.

Come on Derp, it might not be for you but F1 is a huge sport. Completely international and with crazy support.

Motorsport is entirely compatible with rugby as well.

Yep not for me, but I understand those that get into it. Geez I got a son who mad on it, mainly got into it while living in Europe, but he loves it. There is a shit load of good sports that are not for all of us.

Ill maybe give you Moto GP because overtaking happens but i draw the line at F1

I dunno. I think Rugby/Fox can take a lot from F1 and apply it to make Union more of a spectacle. The F1 has three days of excellent coverage by plenty of passionate men and women. Their pre and post coverage is phenomenal, all the commentators seem to be into calling the race as it unfolds with changes in cadence and tone. Then, F1 cuts to the conversation between the driver and their engineers and you can hear the passion, happiness and frustrations.

Whereas in Rugby, we get a bloke like Phil Kearns who exudes the same amount of excitement one has in the waiting room for a colonoscopy. The players interviews are cliche's and our pre and post coverage if Kafe and Gregan telling us there's a bit of dew on the ground in the middle of winter in Canberra.

The races and F1 may not always be spectacular, but the production and commentary always finds something.

Yeah i think Rugby could learn from the coverage of literally any other sport. I think we are really beginning to see what was done when Rugby sold it's soul to fox.

Well it aint gunna get it - Fox has won that war.

Fox is in strife. And never is a big word. We are on the cog of big changes in the way people view sport. Fox has won nothing and RA has everything to play. With little downside (we are already rock bottom.)

It is only opportunity from here.

Well i didn't say never but we will certainly be on the teat for at least another year or two. I appreciate your enthusiasm but suspect things can still get worse.

It will be interesting to see what happens to fox. I toyed with getting it so i could stream and fling it to my chromecast but they make you charge a full $25 dollars a month to be able to chromecast. Absolute madness. Proper dinosaur.

A mate and I share an account. It's under my name/CC and I tell him to just bring me a couple of beers whenever we watch a game. Makes it more digestible if we're both paying half of that fee.

I recently bought a IPTV subscription from a guy recommended to me. It cost me $150 for the year, I got all the Aussie sports, UK Sports, US sports, a lot of movie channels from US/UK and about 3000 other channels. Plus a VOD package with 10K movies and 3K series. Works on Android TVs or Amazon fire stick (If your thinking chrome cast just buy a Amazon fire stick)

Also means on the weekend when I get up I have been able to watch replays of the Pro 14 and Premiership.

Can you just stream it on a PC?

And on top of that, I challenge anyone to watch a season of Drive to Survive on Netflix and not become more interested in F1. Highlighting the personal stories behind the sport can create a massive boost in engagement. My two daughters, teen/pre-teen, did not care for motorsport one ounce prior to watching Drive to Survive. Rugby should do the same - the teams do try a bit of that through social media, but it needs consistent stories, and more depth.
