Sorry I just cottoned on that you've signed Mike Catt as your attack coach. That's an amazing steal, good coaching set up. Amazing to go from Ireland attack coach to Waratahs assistant. Can't go past those Bondi Beaches.
It is a step up for him, hopefully he can meet the higher standards required

I see Felix Kalapu training with the Tahs. Not gonna fill the stadium but at least he’s a recent second rower in Super Rugby with the Force last year… did I miss an announcement or is he one of the many training with them through pre season?

I don't think there has been anything announced but maybe he was called in as cover for Lee-Warner's foot and Smith's (rumoured) no show?

Has great potential and a top guy, my kids loved him, always very happy to have a chat after games, hope he does well

Missed the entire 2024 super rugby season due to injury. Played a few games off the bench for North Harbour in the NPC at the end of the year.

Previous season played in 14 games for the Force with about nine starts.

Showed potential when he joined the Force, but just did not kick on and injury this year set him back/

He is an all round nice guy and very interactive with fans.

His partner Haley Hifo was signed to a two year deal last year with the Force W side, interestingly she did not tour Japan with the Force W side but that may have been due to Farah Palmer Cup committments.

So curious, seeing the Tahs have once again struggled in the tall timber area, has there been any attempts to try and bring Harry Hockings back from Japan?

Or have we accepted that he'll probably be wearing the red and white stripes next year?

Their best bet is a Philip or Rodda for the 26 & 27 seasons

All the reporting around Rodda's departure was that the tahs/RA were trying to get him to Sydney but he wasn't interested. Seems unlikely that would change quickly, particularly with him dropping right back in the pecking order for the Wallabies.

I would be throwing the kitchen sink at Eben Eztebeth, he is thirty three now, sign him for two years.
His tight five rugby IP would be the best in the game.
He would give the Tahs more wins, which leads to more fans, bigger crowds, lucrative sponsorship and a global rugby profile for the Tahs.

The shirt-pulling hardman factor would be massive.

The money, we do not have.

I also doubt Etzebeth, one of if not the best lock in the world, wants to come play for a basket-case.

it would be like Lionel Messi joining the Onehunga Crippled Childrens Burn Clinic 3rd XV.

in other news I like how the NSFW home jersey looks to be covered in bleeding gunshot wounds.

Fitting.

There's no money to throw, certainly not for a player that doesn't qualify for Australia. With the tahs fully owned and operated by RA the days of expensive foreign marquees are well and truly over.

I'd love to see Kane Douglas have a swan song and come home for a couple seasons. Even if he helped bring though the young/inexperienced guys come through like Amatosero.

Don't know how he went at Bordeaux but La Rochelle picked him up which is good enough to say he's still got it.
