Braveheart and rugbyreg disagreed with my view tahs would be wooden spoon candidates with squad quality. I take no joy in this but so far my expectations correct.

For tahs who support I just hope for improvement over
Season given rebuilding then finals expectations etc....

From tonight, as expected going to be long and hard season for tahs as lacking overall squad quality to expect too much as per views held for some time

You spanked the Reds in the season opener last year, you still have some good players to come back. Incredibly young team that will only get better with experience. I'm optimistic that there'll be some good wins for you.

My prediction tahs is wooden spoon vs rebels...now favour tahs for this...we need to still support tahs like me as reds few seasons back in rebuilding

So most likely next week :

No Gordon.
No Walton
No Perese
No Wykes

Depth was already an issue but already so many down after one round is scary

Yep, that's right guys, one of the youngest, most inexperienced Super rugby sides ever lose the first match of the season, sack the coach!!! Unbelievable.
I agree, Nutter, we are a real chance for the spoon this year. Take the side that finished second last in 2020, remove Wallabies Robertson, Simmons, Hanigan, Hooper and Hunt, replace them with teenagers, and that's what you get.
I will still be supporting them, and hoping to see improvement as we go. Looking to really compete in about 2023!

The team had little go forward, looked lost and looked like they had just met that day.

It was hot potato footy which resulted in so many drop balls and balls into touch.

A common sense approach of not having so many kids but Penney chose this side.

Yes some of these kids will get better but you can burn moral quickly with constant losses without a few experienced players pulling them out of it.

I think Foketi is still injured.

Personally I think it might be time to give Moeroa a crack at 12, although given Penney's apparent view of the guy it's unlikely. Then Foketi at 13 (if he's back and fit) and keep Newsome on the wing. Also not too sure about the locks, I think either Douglas or Williams should be given a shot, i didn't think either Whetton or Caird offered much.
