Ramm, Hanigan, Dempsey, Robertson, Maddocks and Bell are definitely worth re-signing, but not worth breaking the bank for. Tafa, Gamble, Harris, Cotton and Donaldson show promise. Aside from that, I reckon this is a good opportunity to clear house and actually sign some top level players from other clubs.

I would definitely be signing Damian Fitz and Robbie Abel, Tom Robbo, Ned, Pat Tafa, Dempsey, Harris, Short, Donaldson, Maddocks, Ramm & Clarke.
Kuridrani would be a great get, don't know whether it's possible. I don't imagine Rodda is able to be signed, but a quality lock has to be one of the most needed positions in the Tahs.

Looking further ahead, post 2021, only 5 players so far contracted.

HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) - No 3
Hooper - No 7
Swinton - No 6
McDonald - No 9
Nawaqanitawase - No 11/14

Better position than the Rebels with only 3, but well behind the Reds (13) and Brumbies (11) for settled squad. Not sure who has caused this to happen or why, but puts great importance on signings for next year and beyond.

Rebels could be in dire straits if the exodus many are predicting eventuates.

On the other hand they have way more financial commitments given the comp won't exist at that point.

D, is there any suggestion that the Reds have ongoing financial commitments iro Rodda, Hockings or Lucas? I would think, if there is no comp in 2022, then players wanting to leave would be treated the same as those three.

Maybe - but they wanted out of their contracts voluntarily. Players could just as easily come after the club for money owed.

SMH saying Maddocks and Robertson potentially looking at the USA. I’ll believe it when I see it, their salary cap is US$350k (AU$506k) both these guys would be earning more than that combined now. Even if their salaries get cut in half, you’d think they’d earn considerably more here still.

Not that we should be casting stones but I'd be asking for pay in advance from that comp, the whole thing sounds a bit Mickey-Mouse to me - An owner of two clubs named after two cocktails he's trying to coin doesn't scream sustainable business plan to me

Maddocks?

Can I be my usual cynical self and ask "what has he done lately" He looked really good running onto some wonderful Cooper passes early one season (ie before Super Rugby gets hard) since then ....................................... bugger all

So much talent, so little to show for it

Agree he's hardly set the world on fire this season but I'm not Penney has known where to play him, with KB (Kurtley Beale) going at year end I'd have assumed he'd be first choice for 15.
