New coach, fresh looks, and we just saw all of our teams in rd20. So who do you expect to see in Links squad? Who do you think has earnt a chance at higher honours? Who do you think is a lock in for a position?

Some I'd like to see get some squad time are in no particular order Cam Crawford, Luke Jones, Hugh Pyle, Rod Davies if his injury comes right, Henry Speight when able, Scott Sio, Matt To'omua, Paddy Ryan.

Cam Crawford definitely & I like Tom English at the Rebels, both big wirey blokes who play the basics well & can find the tryline. Both remind me of Joe Roff.

ACT Crusader I am sure you will get your wish as I don't see the Cooper issues ever dying down, I am sure there is plenty of mileage yet to be had lampooning O'Connor, Simmons is bound to relapse into Ali Williams moments (see what I did there?), and I am expecting Saia (who I thought played very well yesterday) to continue to cause debate.

It's a shame Drew Mitchell and Digby Ioane are both departing at the start of Links tenor.. When in form they are two of the best in the world

digby out of form and constantly injured
mitchell old and constantly injured.

Why would you worry about those two if you have Folau, Speight, Tomane, Honey Bugger, Crawford etc to name a few

time to move on

Crikey, for those who overstated QC (Quade Cooper) organisational and team management credentials must feel vindicated at his performance against the Tahs last nite... If anything nominating and developing a couple of 10s is the top priority for the Wobs. I do hope KB (Kurtley Beale), Lilo are in this group exclusively...& QC (Quade Cooper) - (if its at the expense of some his more extravagant plays)

I get the feeling that Link will start out rather conservatively with his player selections. The reality is that we don't actually have too much genuine talent in depth in many positions.

We may see some adventure in game plans not players.

Yes but will anyone see the selection of QC (Quade Cooper) as conservative?

Agree HJ, Dingo gave just about every option he could a run. I will be very surprised if the TRC squad is only a few players off the Lions squad. White and Pyle to be the only debutants during the TRC.

Selecting the same players seems to be seen as negative. The Reds side he inherited went from 2nd last to 5th with pretty much the same squad minus Barnes who was still widely liked.

Agree with HJ that selections will be pretty conservative without too many wholesale changes.
Players I would like to see in the wider squad as well as to gain some experience in the Northern Hemisphere tours to hopefully be ready for the next RWC

Scott Sio, Salesi Manu
Hugh Pyle, Will Skelton
Luke Jones
Nic White
Matt To'omua, Bernard Foley
Kyle Godwin, Tom English, Cam Crawford, Tevita Kuridrani

More of
Jesse Mogg, Ben Mowen, Christian Lealifano, Nick Cummins, Liam Gill

Our Hooker stocks is pretty light on

Back onto the squad, I would not expect massive changes to the overall squad, or the starting XV. My guess is that Slipper will come in at 3 and Cooper at 10.

Given that pretty much everyone agrees that JOC (James O'Connor) is an amazing talent who hasn't specialised in any one position, I think the bench is his best position at the moment.

The other starting positions will depend very much on injuries (and how the squad trains and interacts with the new boss.....something we won't really hear much about).

I agree that the EOYT is a good opportunity to bring a few of the outstanding fringe players into the squad.
