For those on the forum who were involved in country and NSW rugby in the early 70's, I regret to advise Charlie Onus was killed on his farm near Coolac in an accident on Monday.
Charlie was originally from Mungindi, and played for Moree, Central North, NSW Country and NSW in the early 70's. He was a very skillful and mobile backrower, and we never really saw the best of his rugby as injury forced his early retirement.
He later moved to the southern tablelands near Adjunbilly. I caught up with Charlie just ;ast weekend before the test, a truly wonderful bloke. My thoughts are with wife Mandy, His kids and brothers Rob and Clive.
