Fly-half Matt To'omua is the latest casualty of the Brumbies' determined charge towards the Super 14 semi-finals.

To'omua collided with a post in scoring his side's ninth try of the 61-15 rout of the Brumbies on Saturday and will have a scan on his injured knee on Monday.

If ruled out of the team's clash with the Hurricanes next weekend, he would join an injury list comprising Francis Fainifo, Christian Lealiifano, Josh Valentine and George Smith.

It makes for a tough run-in for the team with the least bonus points in the competition, including away days at second-placed Crusaders and third-placed Waratahs, as captain Rocky Elsom admitted.

"It was a good performance but it's all still ahead of us," Elsom said to AAP in the wake of the win, in which the Brumbies finally managed to cut loose.

"It's not as if we have any room for comfort as far as the table goes, and also the way we're playing. We've got a bit more to do."

Wallabies outside centre Stirling Mortlock is, however, expected to make his return against the Hurricanes.

Well! Well! All those Giteau haters can speak now! And I speak! I'm glad they signed your unfit ass from the force to cover 10 in the absence of Lealiifano and To'omua. I wonder who will play 12! Better not be AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)! He sucked at it in the Tri-Nations vs Springboks last year!

So Gits, Smith & Mortlock for next week. That is pretty solid, but the bench is now bare and it will be interesting to see how Friend manages a fragile-ish Mortlock up against the Smith and Nonu, how long he gets and who replaces him.

Uh... better than having no-one at all?

Andrew Smith is crocked as well. The Brumbies have depth but it's scraping the bottom of the barrel at this stage.

To'omua
G Smith
A Smith
Fanifo
Lealiifano
Kimlin (Long term)
Mortlock (basically injured)
Valentine
Afusipa Taumoepeau
Chapman

All backs except for 3 of them.

Poor bloke, seems to pick up injuries at the worst times. Hopefully hes alright as I want to see him develop his combo with Giteau.

They loose a 19 year old and their final hopes are gone?

Says a lot about what people think about Giteau's ability to control a game.

::) Who said that? It's this and the other 9 injuries that'll hurt them. The Reds would be even more fucked with 9 key players out.

I bet he does. I think Gits can control a game fine, but who will he pair with. Mortlock's time is over in the inside backs, Tyrone Smith is just an average super 14 player. What will define the next 4 weeks of the Brumbies season is, if Giteau decides to play the type of rugby which so many people have raved about for years.
