Yeah, was a bit dissapointed at that. Make up your own songs!

Or do like the rest of us and shut up and watch

Well you have to get songs from somewhere... And why would you want them to just shut up and watch? Isn't that part of the problem with Rugby in Oz, everyone's too quiet?

Thanks for the encouragement boys.

We'll ensure to make a load of noise when we come up to Sydney and Canberra.

Rebel Army will change rugby for the better, bring in the excitement, and fan prescence of other sports.

Worst Case scenario, a bit of fun!

Best Case scenario, we influence the atmosphere positively for the Rebels, and negatively for the opposition

Trying something different. Wont be a 100% success, but will be something!

Barmy Army rip-off a side, they're doing alright and the seem pretty organised. Absent Round 1, I'll be nice to them!

Travi34, you do yourself a disservice. I've followed the story of the Rebels since your blokes were given the licence. I drove over from Adelaide for the 2 match series against Tonga. Noticed your noisy band behind that banner so I googled you, and then found Adam Freier had written about you on the Rebels website! Don' pay too much attention to these blokes, they've grown up with their rugby and take for granted that they didn't have to jump through the hoops that the Rebels and the Vic Union had to. Trust me, I'm jealous! Hope the Rebels bring a game to Adelaide, we haven't had much love from the force :|

Wrapt to finally have professional, world class rugby coming to Melbourne week-in, week-out! Been starved of it for so long, almost don't know what to do you with myself. I think the Rebel Army have done a pretty good job. They've kept the fans motivated since the Rebels won the bid. I joined up about a year ago and have been writing for their website off and on for a while. If you're noticing us, keeping an eye on our our website and looking a the chant book, AWESOME! When you come to Melbourne for Round 1, come look us up and have a few drinks with us. Looking forward to the bragging rights :p

I think the concept of The Rebel Army is great. Who cares if they rip off Barmy Army songs, they have all been stolen from Football clubs anyway. I also think that the idea of chanting and singing is stronger in Victoria with the AFL than in other states so embracing it with the Rebels is fantastic.

Proud member of the Rebel Army here.

I don't think there's any harm in Melbourne doing things our own way, now we're finally in the big leagues. Being with the Army and really creating some excitement in the Olympic Park trial was the most fun I've had in a while, and if we can provide an atmosphere and an experience that adds to the excitement of the game, and even convinces a few of the theatregoers to pick up a scarf and a membership, then we've done our job.

But as Paul says, if you ever come down to AAMI Park, swing around to the southern end and give us a yell, come have a beer or three. We're all here for the rugby after all.

Sounds like it's going pretty well and I wish you all the best. Having been closely involved with the Tah Patrol I know it's not easy to co-ordinate this sort of initiative. The key is to have someone loud, passionate and charismatic to lead, the rest will follow. It'd be good to get some non barmy army songs as well, just look up any English football site and you'll see loads of material.

We had a lot of fun with a few songs like "Stand up, for the Waratahs. Sit down, for the Waratahs. Stand up, for the Waratahs, Sit down, for the WARATAHS!" .. after three or four verses your legs get quite sore, but the alcohol helps.

If you can walk and chew gum at the same time you can also sing and watch in tandem. It looks to me like the Rebel army will put the colourless Tahs supporters to shame again (and I'm a Tah supporter).

not really watch - you can be present and know who is scoring, and when, but I disagree you can get a full appreciation of the game while trying to:

a) get enough beer into you to be inspired to sing, and
b) try to organise your mates to start in the same key

but dont mind my original comment. Like the handle suggest, nothing I say should be taken seriously. Not even this

It's not really about putting supporters to shame, more or less about them sitting up and taking notice. If we can do it, so can they.

The more the active Australian supporters we have the better. Hopefully this translates into supporting the Wallabies.

Done and done mate. We only have 3ish songs from the Barmy Army. Problem is most groups copy one another anyway. That link you had was old, check our forums for the new list.
