Well, can't see another thread into which to put this. We had a good night. Go the Tahs!
Thomond78 and Mrs T78 joined me and Lindommer for a couple of quiet ones at the Lord Dudley before adjourning to the Stadium for the game with Lee Grant providing seat-kicking and commentary from the row behind. Carn the Reds!!!

The Dudley? Thanks for the invite. Thought you were going to the Nelson
Apologies, but I refer all complaints to the social secretary, Lindommer, the man with the plan.

I live next door and ended the night there. Having said that my steak from the Grand National before the game was very much enjoyed.

Thomond78 and Mrs T78 joined me and Lindommer for a couple of quiet ones at the Lord Dudley before adjourning to the Stadium for the game with Lee Grant providing seat-kicking and commentary from the row behind. Luckily Lee had the foresight to reserve us seats just out of the rain, although Thomo wanted to move forward to be in it for that little bit of "home". Mrs Thomo was happy to stay dry. She seems eminently sensible. Thomo is a lucky man.
I'll let Thomo update us on his thoughts, but suffice to say he is an erudite judge of the game, particularly the piggy-stuff. I think he enjoyed himself pretty much.
Then we all adjourned to the Fox and Lion for a few proper beers - met Scarfy, Jonnosan, Mr and Mrs Riddler and Langthorne and a good night was had by all. Lindommer kept finding random West Harbour club officials to hug - we humoured him.
No show award - Waratahjesus. Surprise showing award - Lachie Turner, but Langthorne couldn't be convinced to give up his G&GR T-shirt for LT to get a photo shot.
Anyway, Waratahs at the top - who'd have thought it? Won't crow about it just yet; as our mate PB says, it's a marathon, not a sprint and I feel there's a way to go yet.
Carn the Reds!!!

Great to get to the game, and great to meet up with a few regulars afterwards.
Very disappointed to not see WJ, but I'll just have to get over that one.
If I'd given my t-shirt to LT I'm sure he would have been disturbed enough by my 'George the Animal Steele' impersonation to run away...and I'd have no chance of catching him.

As for the match- a five point bonus win and a week at the top of the table can't be a bad thing at all. The forwardfs did enough without being dominant in the scrum (there were a few times where the ineptitude of the Cheetahs was what saved them). The backs had a good go in difficult conditions. The return of Palu and Waugh for next week, plus another step up in terms of basic skills, will be needed against the Crusaders.

Scarfman

Knitter of the Scarf
And news of Langthorne's job put the cat among the doctors and lawyers. Langthorne - are we still on with the idea?

once again i get a no show award when i never said i was able to attend, had to do some serious work on saturday night so wasnt able to attend the game at all. but if there is a meet up at homebush or definately for the hurricanes match count me in, glad you all had a good night, can i throw out a suggestion for the hurricanes match that people may join the gtt crew for the pre match pub crawl from central, i think there is now 8 pubs we hit on route with the longest walk between pubs five minutes, would love to get a big crowd for the last match

sure he would love to meet some real fans, probably wouldnt mind meeting you either.

Touché my jacketed one, touché.

Although I think you'll find that with the money I've spent and the travel miles I've logged supporting the Tahs over the years, I would be classified as quite a serious and committed fan. Or maybe I should just be committed.

Agree on that last point - I have painful memories of Hurricane-inflicted misery in the past!

The two Thomos are practising their drowning technique up in the Whitsundays. Back in Sydney on Thursday.

Ahh, that should read "diving" technique.
