Set piece magic

John Solomon (38)
In terms of interest, competition & outcome, this coming round is arguably the biggest since the competitions inception in 1996. There are 8 teams capable of making the finals, in other words over half the competition can still qualify in the last round, which is pretty rare to say the least.

The fixture list is as follows:

Hurricanes v Chiefs
Brumbies v Blues
Crusaders v Force
Reds V Waratahs
Stormers v Rebels
Sharks V Cheetahs
Bulls V Lions

Of these, the only one not worth tuning into is Stormers v Rebels, but nevertheless a Semi Finals spot is on the line in that too.

Now for the Reds to qualify they need several results to go their way. Provided one of the Sharks or Bulls doesn't get a bonus point victory and the Reds do they will sneak ahead.

For the Reds to qualify without a bonus point, they need one of the Sharks / Bulls to LOSE or the Crusaders to lose without being within Seven and getting a try bonus. They also need to Hurricanes to win without a try bonus.

Theoretically the Reds could go all the way to Third spot (outright, not just conference winners)
In game 1, the Hurricanes are playing to keep their season alive against the mighty Chiefs at home.

It wouldn't be surprising if almost all of these games sell out, Suncorp is already chewing through tix fast, almost no platinum, a few gold and Silver just about to level 7..

Get keen
