Hardly surprising.

Ridiculous, but expected. Should have dumped the Lions next year already.

Likewise rugbyfyture, pretty sure it's only going to be known as super rugby, helps with branding continuity etc

ive heard some whispers that each conference will have its own name (sponsor etc) and that the round robin matches against other countries will be know as the southern super series or southern super rugby series. There trying to position it so that each country come next rights can negotiate there own conference followed by the round robin and finals series being sold seperate.

Look like they will only take the top 2 from each conferense after the derbies and they will fight it out. Like I qouted way back when this S15 kak started, its going to turn into a S100 over a few years. Take a bow Saru and NZRU for selling the CC and NPC to this pot of shite.

position ing it out as the heinekin cup considering all the saffa teams are named after the CC teams and in new zealand the NPC is getting more popular? only move is the australian domestic comp

NZ Domestic Comp is getting worse and worse I believe. Aren't there plans to reduce it?

that means they can use this http://sphotos.AK (Andrew Kellaway).fbcdn.net/hphotos-AK (Andrew Kellaway)-ash1/hs338.ash1/29051_422753274364_569224364_5609960_7081514_n.jpg

as the logo for the australian conference, and gives me another new pet idea to produce logos for the other conferances

nah i was still confused as to what it would be called and what format they would want. so it was fairly hard with that idea of unknown restrictions. i could probably whip one up. but not very good....

im pretty sure i read a article which stated that the naming rights for the Super Series was going to be sold as a packaged item, contrary to previous years in which each country has sold the individual rights to the competition.

I do agree that this is positioning the comp so that in the future each country can indivually negotiate there own contract. It makes perfect sense that we move towards a heinekin cup style super rugby competition, that way each country has absolute power over there conference.

In the future i envisage that each country will run there own comp ranging in size from 8 to 10 teams, this will be followed up by the Super Rugby series which will be a tournament featuring only the top 2 or 4 teams from each country.
