"WARATAHS centre Ryan Cross has thrown a verbal grenade at his former Western Force teammates, saying they choke under the pressure of winning tight contests.
Cross was responding to fears expressed by Force coach Richard Graham, who is concerned that a culture of losing close matches is developing at the club.
Cross, who spent four seasons playing for the Perth team, said: ''We had the same problem when I was there … we just couldn't shut out those games. When it does become close I think they start to become nervous and not sure of what to do. That's the sort of habit they've got into; they get a bit nervous and don't know how to shut out the game. Hopefully, we can take advantage of that this week.''
The SMH has helped the Waratahs motivate another opposition by putting words in a players mouth. Didn't read the word choke anywhere in Cross' quote, but ffs why would you answer a question about your opposition like that? Surely the Tahs should have a media ban on any former mungos.
Hope this one turns out a little better than Hickey calling SBW the Crusaders' weak link.
