With TV deadlines to meet for the First Grade game, is there enough time between games in the lower grades for extra time to be played?

If they make provision for extra time in the lower grades, then there will be long periods of nothing happening during the day, as the draw is not a common result.

<Tongue in cheek> Perhaps we should respect the best of Rugby traditions and settle the draw with a Boat Race?

Between the lower grades there is an allowance for extra time. I remember playing a 3rd grade GF one year and a 2nd grade GF another, in pretty sure they were played about an hour earlier than usual.

Extra time, first try scorer, penalty count, Rock Paper Scissors anything than where you finished on the ladder who cares the comp was over 3 weeks ago.
And if worst comes to worst I agree with the boat race.

What's the solution? Extra time? What do you do when they are still level at the end of extra time which happened in Colts 1 last weekend?

What a disgrace what a farce what a embarrassment a six placed team beats a first placed team in a semi then gets knocked out of a major semi because the team they drew with finished higher on the competition ladder that will dead set do me. Another case of the lunatics running the asylum.

Hey Redmond

How do you think eastwood and sydney uni felt losing to stacked 4th grade sides. creating 1 losing to 6 and 2 losing to 5.

thats footy you have to deal with it.

If they want to change something make sure the clubs that work to get 4 teams into the finals aren't hindered by stacked lower grade sides coz their 1's and 2's can't make it

I dont know what they are thinking and not debating weather sides are stacked or not that's not for me to determine and if they are it must be within the rules.
My point is there must be a better way when teams are drawn Everyone wants a winner

I must admit to being somewhat bemused by the suggestion that Uni might complain about losing 4th grade to stacked opposition. We're talking about a club with 8 professional players in 1st grade, most parachuted in for the last few rounds of the competition.

Unfortunately (?) for Uni I was told this didn't result in the usual end of year shuffle of players down through the grades to bolster the lower grades for the playoffs due to a high injury toll in the lower grades.

Not sure if that's correct but I would think they'd be the last club to be complaining about the strength of the opposition in the lower grades.

Get real

It's actually a fairly standard procedure for drawn semi-finals - and not just in rugby, but in many sports.

Well done to all for their awards. I think its great reward for the hard work put in by all.
It would be nice if the catchpole medal night incorporated the colts in some way- whether they have a b&f, coaches awards and such.
I did think Hamish or Will Miller should have been awarded the medal, but like everything... its one person opinion.
