Fox is playing the game 'live' at 1:00. Sportal is saying the game starts at 11:00. What's the deal?

Re: Game time tonight?

man the ref is really killling the black in the first half. he really pulled him out early.
ABs look shaken.

The ref wasn't killing the All Blacks - they were killing themselves with utter bullshit at the breakdown. Lucky to not be a man down.

Good game overall, a tough battle. A bit scrappy though. The All Blacks made too many uncharacteristic errors but showed a lot of toughness to get themselves back into the game. Saffers should have really won by a lot more after their dominance in the first half. I'm guessing Morne Steyn won't be on the bench much longer after Pienaar's misses at goal.

In terms of what that game means for us - I thought the physicality and intensity will be a challenge for the Wallabies. In terms of skills, the Boks didn't know what to do with the pill other than boot it. It was great to see both sides mauling the ball with extreme prejudice ! The Bok backrow is really starting to gel. Broussow finally gives them an orthodox fetcher, Spies is starting to do more than run out wide, and Smith gets through a mountain of work. The ABs are as they were at Eden Park - tough, physical, aggressive but not skilled, clinical or possessing anything truly potent.

SA deserved the win, maybe the All Blacks shouldnt have tinkered with a winning side with Leonard and Rokococo disappointing. Surely big Joe has played his last game for NZ. Next weeks game should be a cracker. Agree that Steyn will start, he is deadly with the boot.

From a Bok perspective:

Positives
Scrum is in the improve. I was worried after the first two but they went quite well although it's a work in progress
Juan Smit is rediscovering form and his combination with Brussow is superb.
More game time for M Steyn who was good all round
I thought Frans Steyn had a very solid game at 15. He dealt with everything thrown at him.
Breakdown was good
General physicality was excellent
Rolling maul is hard to stop.

Negatives
Tendency to hoof it when running or setting it up could be better. I am worried that the backs are overcoached and not allowed to play what is in front of them. We have great ball runners and they are not being used enough. Fourie running straight is hard to stop - much like Mortlock. Ask O'Gara. Hardly gets used.
Pienaar - confidence player who sadly has no confidence.
Jean de Villers has been very average all year long and he made some bad decisions. Twice he had players on his outside and kicked it away.

Pienaar - confidence player who sadly has no confidence.

Agreed, fantastic player but is under a lot of pressure from the the fans in SA whom all seem very keen on Morne Steyn to start at flyhalf.

Boks really should have won by more, great try from Conrad Smith but otherwise the All Blacks never really troubled the Boks.

I think next week will be much the same, AB's will come out the blocks a lot harder but I think the Boks will run them down.

I thought the first half was fantastic lay by the Boks. They dominate everything except at the score board. Surely their best 40 minutes I ever saw them played against the old enemy.

The All Blacks defense was fantastic. This match surely proof the Lions was a muchbetter team then everyone gave them credit for and prepared us well for this one.

The Boks now took the top rank and hope they stay there where they belong. Two home wins will set us up nicely for the Tri Nations.

Battle one won now for the war.

Absolutely. Rodney is left with one trick only - standing as halfback for the opposition.

And did you see Spies absolutely smoke Conrad Smith for the last try? Went past him like he was standing still.

Scrappy game. The AB's looked like they can roll SA next time out. As the game went longer ( Albiet with the woeful goalkicking from the world champions ) the AB's came closer. Albiet, that is what the current Boks do. They seem to go missing only to bolt away again.

Hard ask for the AB's in a 6 days turnaround, to get up over the World Champs at altitude.

A few matches to go yet, Paarl.

The Wallabies currently have the best away record in the 2009 Tri-Nations.

Ja lets move on to Durban. Look like M Steyn will replace Ruaan and we may see AD & Bekker on the bench for saturday.

Nunu maybe replaced by Lucky Luke and Tialata may be replaced.

Hell I am in one hell of a week of sport and may miss this one.

good looking team. not very different, but i prefer to see msteyn starting as he looks like he can handle it for the whole game. bit of a test, but i think he'll come through. adi on the bench where he belongs too. snor getting smarter??

Who has the best draw in the 3N? The wallabies or the boks (clearly not the ABs)?

Boks start with three home games, but in three weeks.

Wallabies start with two away games, but with rest in between, and their run at the end is good.

It will be interesting to see how many front up for next weeks game, two games vs the ABs takes it's toll.

So does one game vs the Wallabies, a flight halfway around the world and another game at altitude vs the Springboks. Particularly when a few of your players are just returning from injury.
