Okay guys, I just watched a segment on The Back Page going over the sporting achievements of the year. You can watch it here.

It got me thinking, what have been your rugby highlights for the year? It doesn't have to be a momentous occasion like the Tri-Nations Victory or S15 final, I'd rather know the little moments that often get forgotten through the years.

For me, it was Pat McCabe during the world cup. Here was a guy who many, myself included, had doubted. His commitment and heart was something that I'll always remember, it was truly a man putting himself on the line for his country. Thanks Pat.

Also, loved watching Tom Carter bag a hatrick for the Tahs against the Highlanders, with all the try celebrations we saw this year from Digby and Quade I don't think I've seen so much sheer joy at scoring tries...

I think my avatar sums up the highlight of the year just perfect. The Wallabies first half vs NZ in Brisbane also and Digby's post tri celebration against the Bulls we also amongst the best moments of the year. It seems like Suncorp is the field of dreams.

I also thought the passion of the Rebel Army was a highlight.

Schalk Burger trying to rip Pococks face, jaw and head off in the game against SA in the '11RWC was memorable, if not a great moment. Like slapping Mount Rushmore and execting Ben Franklin to slip off the mountain.

My favourite moment from that game was actually in the post game discussion, where many south africans were saying that Bryce was biased towards us... Then RugbyReg dropped a knowledge bomb on them by using actual evidence from the game...

I love this clip. Frolicking dolphins in the ruck.

wow right in front of the referee as well. If that's not diving off your feet what is...

I've always said Bryce was more lenient to the Saffers in that game than us and I didn't know what everyone was complaining about but I hadn't seen that before lol

For a specific moment of rugby, it is very hard to top Samo's try in the Bledisloe at Suncorp.

It was one of those where were you when Samo broke through the All Black's defence and ran 50 metres to score under the posts? kind of moments.

The answer of course is jumping up and down cheering like a crazy person!

From the perspective of a Rugby fan in general, the whole season was bloody awsome. Some great rugby played, some great upsets and some great individual achievments.

Easy

1. Thorn taking that lineout with 30 secs to go in the RWC final
2. Israel Dagg setting up Nonu's try in the RWC semi
3. Cory Jane solo vs the Yarps and then the fern thumping
4. NZ crowd clapping off Cooper when he got injured in the 3rd/4th
5. Tonga beating France.

Also, I deny all knowledge of the person in a bikini (no, it's not me).

Probably not going to be a popular one here on an Aus board. But my favourite was Stephen Ferris in the RWC when he decided to pick up Will Genia and use him to swat JOC (James O'Connor). Not because it was against Aus or anything, simply because it was great to see Ferris coming back to his best after such a bad injury. Also it a moment of release from the months of frustration at Ireland's performances in the months prior to the game.

Other one isn't exactly a moment but Leinster's 2nd half performance in the HEC Final will live long in my memory.
