Queensland Reds may be without half of their starting side for Friday's match with the Crusaders after an injury-riddled loss to the Brumbies on Saturday night. On top of losing in-form halfback Will Genia, who faces finger surgery and a three-month lay-off, six other senior Reds players are in doubt for the trip to Christchurch after being injured in the 52-13 defeat. Captain James Horwill has a foot injury, vice-captain Berrick Barnes strained his groin, Mark McLinden requires scans for a knee problem, Digby Ioane injured his shoulder, Peter Hynes his knee and Tasi Luafutu broke his hand. The injury blows come on top of the loss of Wallabies forward Hugh McMeniman for the rest of the season due to ankle surgery.

The Reds can do the Tahs a favour here and win a game.

Let's face it, un-fucking-likely, but they could at least keep the points down with their crack defence.....

Since the Crusaders will be running out to their theme song "Conquest of Paradise", what music should be played as the Reds run out?

My suggestion, the Benny Hill theme

Their strength & conditioning program must be the worst in Super rugby.
Beers and BBQ's always worked for me. I remember we had a bad rap from the local paper for having Beers and BBQ after Thursday night training.

That is genius. You might get fired, like the ground announcer for the Bulls a few years ago, but it would be worth it.

In the interests of SANZAR's media rights negotiations this game should not be televised.

agreed, if just to protect me from watching.

In fact in the last home game before the Brumbies (Was it the lions?) I felt like running onto the field so that I could get a lifetime ban from Suncorp and never be able to watch the Reds again.

I think they'll struggle to even run onto the ground as a unit let alone winning the f*cking game.

A shame about Genia getting injured, he was looking good for Wallaby squad selection.

And I am pretty sure he (Genia) is off contract now. Clubs will be circling.

With the Angry Dwarf heading West (yippy), we're in the market for a 9. ;D

They are probably deciding whether they need to bother showing up to be able to beat the Reds.

Donning my Christchurch based rugby journo hat here.

I'm not actually too concerned with the brackets for this game. Poff is probably the best backup to McCaw we have, certainly better than Nasi Manu who is a blindsider.

I've felt that Ellis has lost a bit on his pass, leaving Brett taking the ball too flat footed and when he came off against the Bulls at half time there was a marked improvement in the backline play. Fotuali'i or Keats is a bit of a toss up.

My only real concern is at 10 but against the Reds I think my grandfather would dominate the game, and he's been dead for 30 years!

For mine, save McCaw for the Blues game, this one will be an easy 5 points.
