So, really, you wish there was a lock completely unlike him?

Unless you mean like him in, say, DNA. In that case, there already is one, but he's in Melbourne.

I did sort of mean his DNA, i want a lock with his ridiculous genetics that allowed him to be such a big human. And i thought he always had so much potential but he always ran too high in contact and didnt put any effort into anything.

If we had a lock with his skillset, but ran hard and put effort in i would be very happy.

I disagree. Stirzaker was also guilty of obstruction. In almost every instance of obstruction, where the obstructor is tackled, no one ever complains of the tackle being taking the man without the ball.
In terms of seriousness, if we are placing a shove higher on the scale than offside then I think we're in trouble. It's not like Genia Horwilled him.

Ever since I've been involved in rugby, the laws are there for the referee to enforce not the players.

With respect, your analogy isn't really comparing apples with apples. When an obstructor is tackled he is generally a decoy runner who is in a position to catch the ball and the tackler has misread the situation. Genia is deliberately pushing a player who is not in possession of the ball, there is no obstruction as the ball is in the middle of the scrum - neither player has a chance of picking the ball up. Nor does Stirzacker have to get out of Genia's way - he can't move in front of him to obstruct, but he is under not obligation move move. In the situations that I observed the push was almost immediately after the feed, I'm not even sure that Stirzacker was offside in most of the cases. Are we saying now that the attacking half back is to be penalised for offside if he is slightly slow getting back around his scrum?

In addition, Genia is not allowed to put his hand on the scrum while he is floowing the ball around.

Surely JOC (James O'Connor) to 10, KHunt to 15 and Turner to wing? Thinking that Frisby would do better at 10 than JOC (James O'Connor) is right up there with thinking the Reds have any hope of playing in the finals. Deluded and stupid.

Fortunately for the Reds, Gill pulled his finger out at the breakdown and their 7 man scrum held the Rebels 8 or it would have been a greasless reaming.
JOC (James O'Connor) to 10?
On last nights game I would be more likely to drop him, than to give him a position that requires much more involvement.
Pretty sure JOC (James O'Connor) figured in player points discussions in the Rebels camp.

Here's me trying to be funny and you make it look like I might have accidentally said something insightful. I really didn't mean to.

Nonetheless, you are right. We're lacking the go forward the Rebels get out of Lopeti.

But, it is all too familiar that the highest paid attract the most poppy-cutters is it not?

Not getting upset, I just don't understand the mindset.

His minutes have been so small, I can't even see how his performance is worth commenting on so far. Let along whinging about his value. He will start next week. Let us continue this discussion then.

Because he hasn't come close to the hype. Personally, I think he is a decent footballer but he's a bit over rated by many. I doubt he will ever make the Wallabies, but will be happy for him to prove me wrong.

Where do you hard-luck Harry's come from?

The world's unfair. We want a fair go. Bang for buck.

The bloke has barely had a chance to play, what do you honestly expect from him?
I expect him to show us why he is the Wallabies 12 in waiting.
But then again.........

Right..... Anyway, I didn't say Genia was taking the law into his own hands, I didn't even say that Stirzaker deserved to be penalised.
Genia shoved a guy that was probably not where he should be. People were saying Genia should've been penalised. I was adding a contrasting view that Stirzaker was doing the wrong thing also.
It was two 9's doing what 9's do, and that is annoying the shit out of other players. Play on.

RE Horwill's red card. It's been pretty well unanimously agreed on here that Red was absolutely the right call for striking.
It's good to have that cleared up as a little while back there seemed to be some confusion about it when Moore punched Quirk and then Gill. ;)
I agree, but let it go, mate! You'll be waiting a bloody long time for SANZAR to introduce consistency to the judicial process! ;) The Hooper - Pocock thread will finish first!

Is there a potential consequence for Horwill for multiple red cards in a season? It didn't seem to affect his judicial hearing for the striking.

Ruggo

McDurling is the one to step up for Horwill. Plain and simple. The next big thing in schools or club rugby will just have to wait. We have invested in McDurling and now it is time to get a return on that investment.
