Pretty good player who played Colts and a bit of 1st grade for Uni until the middle of last year. Has got good pace. He's still young at 21 or 22 and not injury prone if I remember correctly. The Fiji qualified thing is a bit unclear. The way I hear it, he played a game that he and most of the other players thought was an under 20s game but were later told was a Fiji A game.
I think when it comes to Pacific Islanders they seem to be able to bend the rules a bit. I know a deal was worked out for Jerry Yanuyanutawa to play for Fiji at RWC and still stay at the Brumbies last year (not as a marquee player). For various reasons it didn't happen in the end.
Anyway, I hope Rocko does return. He's a good kid and a real talent with genuine top end pace.

I believe the Fiji qualified thing is a bit of a mess up and he is still eligible for Aus. I remember back when he first went over to France and he was offered a spot on the bench for the Fijian national side in a test against Australia, however, respectfully declined as he wishes to play for the Wallabies. His mother is Australian and he has lived all his life here. He did play for Fiji at the Under 20 world championship back in 2008 only when certain it wouldn't be counted as an international cap.

He attended Marist College Ashgrove in Brisbane from 2005 where he played halfback and winger, previously he lived in Adelaide. Unfotunately he had a major knee operation during the 2006 season and was under injury cloud for some of 2007 which made him ineligible for representative schoolboy selection and seemed to have slowed his development for a bit. I believe he has already been in the Waratah's (2009) and Rebel's (2010) academies.

I believe I mentioned this earlier in this thread but for anyone wanting to catch a glimpse he should be playing in the Sydney(for Syndey Uni I presume) or Brisbane (once against I presume with GPS who he was associated with previously) club competition for the remainder of the season before heading to Melbourne.

Yep but it is only a fan website and his only proof is "he told it to me!"
I don't why the Rebels need such a player

Its happening. I mentioned it earlier in this thread that some players were coming back from France and he is one of them.

He will be a handy player for them and give some depth in the outside backs. He is also a good kicker.

Gerrard is only 29 I still rate him highly. I was surprised he didn't make the wider Wallaby squad. His boot and experience would have helped in the Scotland match.

Without being unkind would a comfy seat in front of a fire with pipe and slippers be a good spot for Mark in 2013?

I reckon he's got, at the very least, one more year in him, he's only 29. Then again, he has a young family, he may be sick of the circus.

The other being Chris Thomson from Narbonne?

Spring chicken ;) I imagine Gerrardo has a few years in him yet.

Very disappointed he didn't get into the Wallabies squad. Gerrardo is no flashy winger or scything fullback, but what a metronome he is. I think we will rue not having his accuracy, his read of the game in attack, and his rock solid defence.

Certainly he still has plenty of greatness in him at the Rebels if he wants it.

Not sure about that one. I have heard Lei Tomiki should be coming back as well though, for the second time. I don't think he'd be a major asset to the Rebels or any AUS franchise, he got one start for the Reds for a few years ago after it was said he would be a vital part of the team.

He hasn't played either for the Stade Français last season.

While there is a lot of anti-Huxley sentiment on this board (and elsewhere), his contributions to the club have been important in their first two years. That being said, I think this is probably the best outcome for all involved. Huxley has provided good injury cover/depth this year but it has become obvious that he is not (or will not be soon) in the best 22 anymore. I wish him all the best, and hope he gets to enjoy the French sunshine.

For sure, the blokes that sit near me regularly boo him despite being Rebels supporters. I suppose he's inconsistant on the field but I wouldn't say he's bad and his goal kicking has proven handy lately.

Having a great rugby player who triumphed against adversity remembered as a Rebel is awesome.

Noticed in Growden's rumours of the week this week that he's suggesting that the Rebels are buddying up (no pun intended) with the Hawthorn football club. Possibly deriving from KB (Kurtley Beale)'s (and by extension JOC (James O'Connor)'s) friendship with Buddy Franklin or possibly just because they've actually decided to watch a Carlton game and realised that being involved with them may not be the best idea anymore . Or maybe with the Hawks losing HSBC as a sponsor they're getting in with Rabodirect too. Who knows.
Either way as a Hawks fan in the AFL, I'd be pretty happy to see both my teams on the same page. But even putting that aside, I'd be happy if it were true as Al Clarkson has always been one of the master innovators in AFL circles and I am sure that the Rebels could benefit from his input.

Haha, you make it sound like Beale and JOC (James O'Connor) run the joint. I think it's more demographic cross-over. The two clubs that I'd guess have the most Rebels supporters would be Melbourne and Hawthorn, with Melbourne being the smaller of the two by far.

I think they originally chose Carlton because of the training facilities but choosing Hawthorn makes much more sense with all the inner-east privet school kids that back both.

That's a massive reassurance, but we still need to recruit another hooker. I do not believe we will have him around forever.

Is Siliva Siliva off contract? I know I ask this a lot but I've never gotten an answer.

Fijian winger or fullback Alex Rokobaro (Stade Français) has signed a 2-year deal for the Rebels.

I googled it and I can't find anything other than that he was involved with the Rebs wider training squad in 2011. Do you have any sources?

I'd be disappointed if he got an EPS spot over the number 11 for Aus U20s.

There were cartwheels of happiness and hope from myself and the good lady wife just at the hint Delve could stay at the Rebels in 2013. I very much hope this comes true.

Well, when I say we did cartwheels, I'm sure you understand they were done only in our minds. I haven't actually done a cartwheel since about 1979. But I sure can imagine an Olympic standard version.

As awesome as Delve v3 would be, I'd be taking it with a grain of salt.

I've got Rebel sources saying nothing regarding Gary's activities next year is confirmed. Not even a playing contract with Toulon.

Grain of salt? Mate, I've got about 3 tonnes of the stuff being tipped onto my front lawn. That tells you how much I think of the Foxsports throw-away line on the show.

Like I said, I was happy just to hear a hint. Until the Rebels formally release a statement one way or the other, I will simply continue to live in hope.
