Guys - we'd be pissed off if some other site started publishing your comments or our articles in full with no acknowledgement. So here's the rules when quoting stories from around the web:

1) Don't just post the whole article.
Grab the few sentences or paragraphs that are most relevant to the discussion or point you are trying to make. This is also good for other readers who then don't have to wade through a whole story to figure out what your point is

2) Always post a link to the source
This means readers can then get the rest of the article, and the person/organisation who's bothered to put the effort in gets the due respect and eyeballs.

that's it, simple.

Makes sense...

New rule? Or maybe make this thread a sticky

What's the guidance on imagery?

I didn't really want to keep adding to the "rules" so I've just added it to the welcome and rule sticky as well as here.

Photos - If they look professional / copyrighted - you shouldn't touch without permission

You know when you have come of age as a blog and are being treated with respect with people who value the content, when we crank up the "professionalism" and "ethics" of the posts by correctly attributing and acknowledging others IP.

If Gaggerland was full of absolute garbarge (like some other blogs/forums), no one would mind it if their IP/original work from elsewhere was being plagiarised without acknowledgement.

G&GR - A trusty source for all your rugby needs.

Thanks Admin, mods & Gagger.
