With the Qld trials just around the corner on the 24th and 25th June. I though it would be a good time to start a thread on the likely makeup of the Qld 1 and Qld 2 teams that are going to head down to Riverview representing our great state.
The CSS team has been picked from the rugby state champs just completed http://www.redsrugby.com.au/News/Ne...s-Rugby-State-Championships-at-Sunnybank.aspx
Putting it out to AIC and GPS boys and girls, what is likely make up of both the AIC and the GPS 1,2 and 3?

It is always dangerous to assume that boys who caught the selectors eye in 2015 ("The Incumbents") will similarly catch the 2016 Selectors eye, but having stood out against the Age Cohort a year above them, there is a fairly good chance that they will similarly do so compared with their actual Ace Cohort.

correct Tiaontin has left but 2 more Raorens left including Tony in grade 12 this year who many say is better than big brother. And would have played 9 in firsts last year but for broken ankle.

Tony Raoren is actually a 10 or 12. I have seen him used very effectively there and carved up at 10 in the Junior Gold trials last year. Unfortunately he pulled out to concentrate on school rugby then suffered the ankle injury that kept him out for the season.

He has played 9 because his pass is very good but he would be more comfortable and more effective, in my humble opinion, at 10 or 12. Id like to see him get a chance there.

Very small for a 12 ?

Jack Hardy

Not that I am comparing him to Matt Giteaux but Git's wasn't exactly big. He has played halfback but not his natural position and I am not sure how much specialist coaching he has had in that position, particularly given he sat all of last season with injury. Just reminding people that he has more experience at 10/12 than he does at 9.

Wow . if you mean that 13 are trialling from TGS.
From the reports I've read, I thought they didn't do to well in the trials at TSS

Yep , I heard the same but I'm confident in the info I have re the numbers of players going to the trials
It's also the most from any school ????????

Least was BGS with 6

ACGS: 5 (one forward, four backs)
BBC: 5 (two forwards, three backs)

BGS above these two.
