Personally I think it's great that Logan will join Premier Grade, the more teams we can have the better for the future of QLD rugby. They will not struggle to get players, and personally I'm excited at the prospect of their colts side considering the catchment they are in.

Those who think that the QLD rugby talent pool isn't deep enough to have more premier teams, you only need to see the calibre of players playing reserve grade at their clubs. I have listed some below;

Prop: Daniel Anae (Sunnybank), Josef Horomia (Easts), Pat Fepuleai (Uni)
Hooker: Sean Fell (Easts) Tom Mellor (Sunnybank) Bart Ritchie (Norths), Jake Lyon (Brothers)
Locks: Andrew Gentles (Sunnybank) Sam Reiser (Uni) Declan Dinnen (Souths)
Backrow: James Su'a (Easts) Api Naibo (Norths) Jack Cornelsen (Uni) Charlie Freney (Brothers) Richard Skelton (Brothers) Jonathan Kalauta (Souths)
Halfback: Vitori Buatava (Bond) Simon Gregg (Easts) Tom Christie (GPS)
Fly-Half: Dion Taumata (Bond)
Centre: Simon Bartley (Easts) Jeremy Skelton (Brothers) Luke Ferry (Wests) Will Shipperley (Brothers) Jason Tomane (Sunnybank)
Wing/Fullback: Isaiah Mosese (Brothers) Rika Batibasaga (GPS) Gus Qasavakatini (Bond)

Very handy players whom have all played a fair amount of premier rugby. Plenty of names not on there either. Plenty of depth in QLD rugby, let the QPR expansion keep rolling!!

Brothers put it to the Bankers. Sam Greene was on fire playing at 15.

What are people's thoughts on Brothers going deep into the finals. Greene seems like he will play at 15 with Dallan Murphy back into the fray this next week. Returning Reds in Tupou, Talakai, Tui with return members Postal and Payne. That will be one impressive back line behind what will be an enormous yet skilful forward pack.

Phil Mooney confirmed ... Jake Strachan (Sunnybank Prem Colts, State High 2013 flyhalf) will most likely be their starting flyhLf in 2016

What happened there King?

Strachan is still playing for Sunnybank - did Wests not offer him enough or did Sunnybank offer more to keep him?

where's Phil Potgeiter in particular?

Cornelson not there too.

Jack dG is an absolute gun though.

Something like 8 Prem grade players and a heap of res/1st grade players are competing in a tournament in Hong Kong. Left before the GC game.

Which clubs are likely to be the major benefactors from the U20s lads filtering back into QPR this weekend?

Easts v Norths
Location: David Wilson Field
Kick-off: 3:20pm

Norths will be looking for a hatrick of victories when they travel to Coorparoo to play Easts. The visitors are on a roll, convincingly beating Bond University before the Easter break and carried that momentum into Round 3, securing a 19–17 victory over Wests. The Tigers head into the match off the back of a two-week bye, and they will be hoping that the extended break will help them claim their first victory of 2016.

Easts: AJ Campbell, Sam Richards, Kirwan Sanday, Tyrell Barker, James Moore, Liam Wright, Michael Gunn, Tom Milosevic, Simon Gregg, Matt Brandon, Michael Tweedy, Mack Mason, Matt Carroll, Aaron Coleman, Elliot Hagen

Coach: Anthony Connellan

Norths: Garrath Ryan, Daniel Sutherland, Dylan Sikimeti, Apisai Naiyabo, Lindsay Ward, Jayden Rodwell, Enzo Mutoti, Philip McComber, Nick Chapman, Logan Tibbetts, Alex Gibbon, Duncan Paia’aua, Mitchell Fuller, Reid Foran, Connor Chittenden

GPS v Brothers
Location: Yoku Road
Kick-off: 3:20pm

GPS have a massive task on their hand in Round 4 as they host Brothers for the first game of the year at Yoku Road. Yet to register a victory in 2016, they’ll host a Brethren outfit that have scored a competition high 105 points from their three matches in 2016. However, it’s not out of their reach, GPS were unlucky against top of the table Souths in Round 3, falling short by a conversion, 21–19.

GPS: Ezrah Amituanai, Feleti Kaitu’u, Fred Burke, Louis Wolf, Daniel Gorman, Mitch King, Waita Setu, Radike Samo, Nigel Genia, Dan Early, Pat Nicholson, James Herbert, Chris Kuridrani, Rika Batibasaga, Giorgio Phillips

Coach: Carl Marshall

Sunnybank v Bond University
Location: Oldmac Oval
Kick-off: 3:20pm

Having played their last two matches away from home, Sunnybank will be thankful to return to Oldmac Oval, as they hunt for their second win of the year. The Dragons host Bond University, a side that showed much promise in the opening round before suffering two defeats at the hands of Norths and University of Queensland. With both sides on two-match losing streaks, there will be a lot at stake when this match gets underway.

Sunnybank: Haydn Hirsimaki, Sam Mellor, Tereina McLean, Colin Cooper, Brendan MitchellTualima Tuaina, George Bloemfield, Jeffery Fa’amausili, Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, Jake Strachan, Joey Fittock, Fred Dorrough, Junior Laloifi, Conrad Quick, Brando Va’alu

Coach: Sean Headger

Wests v University of Queensland
Location: Kenmore RFC
Kick-off: 3:20pm

Wests look like an improved unit in 2016, recording a Round 2 win over Easts before narrowly going down to Norths 17-14 in Round 3. This weekend they’ll host the University of Queensland, who are on a two-match win streak following a 31–15 victory over Bond, in the first edition of the Westside-battle for 2016.

Wests: Joe Shopland, Cody Blackhurst, Sione Na’a Helu, Jeremiah Lynch, Rob Rutledge, Alec Fontalvo, Chanel Schmidt, Joel Brown, Tim Smith, Alec Jones, Reece Cleeton, Luke Ferry, Dan Faumuina, Byron Hutchinson, Richard Aitsi

Coach: Pat Byron

Coach: Mick Heenan

Bros might have Lukhan Tui on the bench for tomorrow.

We'll need him as GPS will be tough to beat at home. They're always strong at Yoku Rd.

Several University lads were away for the Hong Kong 10s with King's College.

Ended up taking team of the tournament, and were held to the Bowl semi through rotten draw luck - beaten twice, both teams went to the final.

Wakely, Vaessen, Potgieter, Cornelsen, Gibson, Jock Campbell from Premier Grade all started.

Campbell in particular would have been a share shout for player of the tournament - electric in counter and incredible in defence as fullback.

I believe he was handed a few business cards from interested clubs in France.

What happened there King?

Strachan is still playing for Sunnybank - did Wests not offer him enough or did Sunnybank offer more to keep him?

This was before Mitch Third was confirmed to be leaving the club for Bond.

Jake wanted to start for a Premier Grade side and was thoroughly blocked at Sunnybank before both obstacles vanished.
Once he was starting there was no reason to leave, much to Wests disappointment.

That's a big group of players to have out at any stage of the season but all to leave in the same week would be very disruptive.
