Toksie put up a great passionate performance. He went straight to the Boer commentary box and the fatty really enjoyed it.

He did OK as did the Kiwi in the early tests (ex Otago player) for their June anthems

Anyone else suspect the use of autotune? All the anthems in SA's home games this year have had a touch of the T-Pain to them...

yeah the old boys choir has been growing pretty quickly, only 2 days ago they had 6'000, now they are up to 8'000 and most definitely going to reach there 10'000 fans required to sing at the Bledisloe test in Sydney..

I think its a great gesture by the ARU to do this, if they sound good they might even become a mainstay of singing the anthem at Australian home matches.

Nee Boet Toks sing opera. They should gave him a guitar and he,ll do it close eyes. It took me back to my playing days when we took control of all the pubs on the road with song and drank.

Yeah you could see he can sing, but the Aus anthem definetely had some help.

An opera singing Prop. Hardly stereotypical.
Olo Brown (90's All Black Prop) was a lawyer.

Any other "interesting/unusual" occupations for rugby players?

Stuart McGill - NSW and Aust Cricketer was apparently ostracised in Aust Criket team because he liked to have a nice Red Wine to relax after a game instead of skulling beer like the stereotype.

Props tend to be more intelligent. Hell, forwards generally do. Take a look at, for example, Peter Sutherland. Or, indeed, that prince amongst wine-makers, Hempies du Toit, a man whose combination of wine-making genius and 'tache clearly makes him Lindommer's idol. :D

Well props are big men who should have big voices and have everything in extreme ways like passion. Toksie show all of this when he sang our anthem yesterday. Bees Roux showed it also when he lost it. You dont vok around with a fatty specially when they come from Prieska or Senekal.

But Van der Linde was impressive, with veteran rugby writer Gavin Rich describing it as ‘the best performance by a Western Province player at Loftus since 1997′. Classic."
