Probably his best since the RWC Pool game v Wales 2 years ago. On the negative side his habit of turning over the ball in the tackle prevailed and once, if not twice, he surrendered trying a low percantage pass. Incidentally - otherwise the Wallabies were admirable in not pushing the pass.
However his work rate and hard hits on defence more than made up for his couple of turnover lapses. His effort demonstrated the value of having a big bruiser at 8.
He only dropped two. Once trying to get an offload through about 27 English tacklers and once mopping up sloppy lineout ball. Also, his hit on Croft made me so happy I weed just a little bit.
He's absolutely fucking critical for this team. We have no other guaranteed gainline breaker in the pack. He's also becoming more destructive on their ruck ball, which is excellent.
Would love to see him fit enough to last the 80, rather than Smith do a poor imitation.
