Still a few weeks away from season's end but its interesting to see who might win what.

So what are they?

Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, Try of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Rookie - as someone said in another thread, Higgers would be a good bet, but he played last year so is ineligible right? As is another contender Ben Daley. So from the Reds that leaves McLinden and Weekes I guess. Can't think of any rookies from the other states? Palmer falls in the Higgers category really having played last year.

Player of the Year has Ione as a front runner. Contenders from other states? Waugh, Robinson, Caldwell and Mumm from the Tahs? Gerrard will be up there for the Brums but perhaps injury will curtail him. Otherwise Smith and Moore. Alexander too. Out west its Giteau all the way and maybe JOC (James O'Connor), Josh, Pocock or Sharpie.

Coach has a very good chance of being Mitchell which is more than a little ironic given the off season he had. In the end I think Friend will get it because how he handled the whole Shawn Mackay thing.

Try of the Year really needs a list of candidates. But should be the Reds surely? ;)

Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, Try of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Rookie of the year- I can't think of any standouts that have made thier debut this year & played a good number of games other than McLinden.

Player of the year- Matt Giteau will get it for sure.

Try of the year- There has been some very good tries this year it would be hard enough to pick try of the week last Monday let alone the season.

Coach of the year- If we don't have a top 4 side then we should scrap that award & pick crunching tackle of the year instead.
