By geez there some talent about isn't there? Like the look of the Canes, but may need a lock or 2 to stand up, but by Geez that is a bloody good looking backline! Mind you Cruasaders look a complete outfit again, and Blues look fairly full of talent!

^^^^^^^ KiwiM begs to somewhat differ re: Bloos:

Gotta say I'm stunned they didn't sign Olmstead & can only assume they'd filled their lock roster pre-M10 (a silly thing to do, really).

Re: CruSadists you've gotta remember it's RWC next year so Whitelock will probably miss the first month, other "main group" AB will have their minutes managed & they've more AB than most esp in the forwards where player workloads will be managed more closely than in the backs.

Think perhaps Olmstead could of missed out because they signed most of their players halfway through the M10 cup, and he really came on big at end of season. Like you WOB I think someone missed the bus as noone has picked him up!

Further to my post re:CruSadists, it's now confirmed that SW & KR will sit out Rounds 1-4; Cody Taylor Rounds 1 & 2; and everyone from EOYT (SW, KR & CT incl) can only play 180min in Rounds 1 - 4 & has to be given two weeks off during the season. Odds on a Super Rugby three-peat just lengthened IMO (but if it helps even a little toward a RWC three-peat then who gives a shit?).

^ I was 100% sure I'd read somewhere that he'd retired so, yeah, it's a little surprising but let's face it, less than a week before kickoff there's not too many unsigned 10's out there. Probably won't get too many minutes but could be a calming influence on DMac & JDeb.

KRead's extended break about to be extended by a further 2-3 weeks:

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby...ll-now-delay-his-return-to-crusaders#comments

Whetu Douglas going OK & as I've previously said I DGAF if KR only plays the back end of Super Rugby if that means he's 100% (or even 90%) for RWC, there being a fairly big gap between him at 90+% & next-best available (probably Akira ATM (not that Shag & Foster will pick him, probably go for the safe option in LukeW but that's a whole different story, eh :)))

Sam Lousi (Horrorcanes) out for an unknown time with a pec injury:

https://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/s...k-sam-lousi-out-longterm-with-pectoral-injury

You'd expect Fifita to move in from 6 given how flush with loosies & short on locks they are.

Turns out it's season-ending, ' canes have signed Andries Ferreira to replace him.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby...joins-hurricanes-to-replace-injured-sam-lousi

Can't say I've heard of him & I see he's had a few clubs so I'm guessing he's what you'd call a journeyman?
