NZ S14 Draft System

Does anyone know how the NZ S14 draft system works?

I know that each S14 franchise are allotted 3-4 NZ Provinces and from them they choose their "protected" players, but how to the rest get dolled out?

Also how does S.Brett opt to play for another S14 province when he would be one of the first protected players selected?

Just interested is all.

Nobody knows? I'm just interested to see how it different from other draft systems.

Any knowledge about the South Ifrican draft system would be great too.
