Crusaders vs Chiefs Rd 1

Cantabs all ball, all territory, Chiefs all D and hello, intercept try at the death, all the points at the New Old Lancaster Park tinpot bumhole rec ground

R.Fruean with a Lomu-on-Catt sideline rumble to fuck off his old employers haha. Even Richie Mcmurder fell off that one.

Tylenol Bleyandaal fucks up all his kcicks bigtime. Sprays enough points wide to seal the loss

Chiefs D a feral swarm.

Tim Perry gave Big Ben Tameifuna a torrid time in the scrums.

Ian Smith and his pro-cantab barracking sideline bullshit can fuck right off.

Corey Flynn celebrates the
oops that's not right either.

Pretty disappointed in the game, thought it might've had a bit more skills on show. That try from Fruean was a beauty though, steam rolled two Crusaders (13 and 9 I think?) and easily broke McCaw's desperate attempt.

Still, it's early days and NZ teams tend to be notoriously slow started, the Crusaders in particular. The ref didn't help in the first half, it was frustratingly stop start.

Yeah, both D's seemed to pretty much nullify each other, pretty impressive for Rd 1 from that viewpoint. Fruean's supposed weakness on defensive positioning at centre not evident in that game. God, if he can nail that aspect he has to be near the AB's squad.

Retallick will be muntered after that head clash. Compulsory 3 week stand down? That is a big blow at lock cos' M.Fitzgerald and god-knows-who might not be too flash for that already-depowered scrum.....

I agree, both Retallick and the Chiefs prop (forgot which one?) will surely be out for three weeks? Yeah the D for both sides was good, but they will both be looking to do better in attack over the next few weeks.

Not great for the Chiefs pack, who got muntered by the Saders scrum. Hadn't seen much of Perry before, seemed to be powerful on the loosehead side at set piece.

Blues v Clan about to start.

Highlanders going nuts. Hard to see them losing from here and a bonus point should be on the cards. Did anyone tip them to top the NZ conference after week 2?

Clan up 24 to nil at half time, including 3 tries to nil.

Long way back from here for the Blues.

Ben Afeaki was the other guy concussed. Great to see neither was allowed back out there a la G Smith v Lions.

Crusaders fan so gutted that 2/3 possession & at least that field position amounted to fuck all 'cos Richie kept pointing to the posts even tho his kickers were shit. We had them in the scrums even before they lost Afeaki & Retallick, they ended up with their reserve hooker @ 7 FFS, yet we still took a wide shot within 10m of the line instead of the scrum... & of course it fucking missed, eh. Also had them at line out time, wouldn't have minded the afore-mentioned penalty being kicked for touch.

Not blaming Richie for the loss per se, but it's hardly the first time his inability to change a game plan that ain't working has come back to bite him.

Perfect opportunity - at home & with weakened opposition - to get the season off to a flyer wasted. Made harder to swallow by having 20-odd of wifey's whanau in the room, all of 'em from Pukekohe, Ngaruawahia or Hamilton.

DP, please keep these reports coming, your take on the game is a little weird but in a good way!

Francis Saili with a brilliant solo try in the first minute after halftime, including a chip and regather while isolated in three Highlanders.

Hard to follow now, crappy Foxtel over internet is so unreliable.

Claiming I have no internet connection, yet I can browse web pages. Well done Foxtel.
