A big congratulations to the NSW CHS team who competed in the St John Easter Rugby festival in Johannesburg South Africa this weekend.

http://www.stjohnscollege.co.za/rugbyfestival/

In the 3 games the results were as follows:

V Parktown lost 26-19 in a scrappy affair in wet conditions where the refereeing certainly didnt favour NSW CHS.

V Paarl Boys lost 67-0 against the very impressive South African Schools Champions. Wow they are talented!

V Florida won 29-7 in a strong performance that augurs well for the rep season ahead.

Best of luck to all boys in their upcoming selection trials.

Players to watch:

Forwards Harry Turner (Capt and Flanker), Netane Talanoe (Prop) and Will Bremner (Hooker)

Backs Billy Carberry (Vice Captain and Fly Half), Hayden Pomare (Half Back), Lewis Cooper (inside centre)

I am sure all boys had a terrific experience touring South Africa and will carry lifelong memories that a Rugby tour provides :D

When do the CHS teams play CCC and CAS?
They've played CCC at Camden in a trial on 28th May (CHS 1sts convincing winners) No CAS fixture listed for this year. Play ISA this Sunday, then GPS I think the week after

Chibimatty,

Thanks for you're post highlighting the Paarl boys game v NSWCHS boys, held at St Johns Easter Rugby Festival Johannesburg South Africa however, I thought others may like to see a video that highlights the NSWCHS boys v Florida
There are quite a few of these boys who have been selected into the NSWCHS XV team and NSWCHS II

CHS XV V ISA XV
Trials 18th June

I only got to see the 2nd half of the CHS V ISA game but from I saw I can genuinely say the standard of rugby was excellent, with both teams going hard out. It was however the last quarter, that made for some really exciting rugby.

The CHS boys not dropping their heads despite being down 36 -17 with 12 mins to go, the atmosphere of the crowd seemingly resigned to the fact the chances of CHS coming back now would take nothing but magic! and boy! did magic come their way!
2 tries, ( 2 conversions) within 7 mins bringing the score to 31-36 with 5 mins to go then came try number 5 with #12 Walton flying over the chalk in the corner evening the score 36 - 36.
No conversion.
With 2 minutes left on the clock CHS attacking on ISA 10m line bringing us to the final touch of magic with barely 10 seconds to go, #7 Turner (c) gestured to full back Patterson to stay in the pocket, within a nano second, scrum half Pomare sent a bullet pass straight to the waiting hands of Patterson who with perfect precision, drop kicked the ball and sent it soaring through the sticks, securing the win of the day! Wow, the whole stadium erupted with shouts and applause almost drowning out the refs final whistle of the game.

At 36 all and time up CHS got a penalty near the half way. They considered the goal, but opted to kick for touch and when the kick didn't go out, there was a groan until a quick turnover led to the field goal. Very exciting, good luck tomorrow boys
