OK, long-time members will know that we run a virtual AGM every September, on the anniversary of the board. We'll do that again, for sure.

In the meantime, me and the boys from the lab are meeting up this week to discuss how things are going. So, if you have a quick request, complaint, or compliment, stick it here (better than up your arse) and in the fullness of time an operator will attend to your inquiry. Thank you for waiting.

Well, let's work from the keystone position and let all the others fall into place from there. Who do you see in the number 22? Hangers? Carraro?

For Requests : I'd like the Tahs to win next year. Thanks in advance !
I suspect that proposal will have the numbers to get up. Juan may not be happy though...

I don't see a problem with that, as long as he also gets your proxy rounds

Get the SFS to serve something other than that VB stuff. If I wanted to drink weewee it would be my own.

You guys are in for a busy time it seems. Changing the beer but especially getting the Tahs to win the comp. :fishing

Unfortunately the TAHS don't have any input (or profit) from the beers served at the SFS. They just hire the ground and hope to break even on gate takings.

Otherwise they'd probably serve Tooheys New, considering they are a sponsor.. rather than VB who are not. If only they'd serve Coopers Pale, everyone would be happy

Last year they had actually increased the types of beers/beverages you could buy at SFS, but as Moses said, that's all compeltely up to the SFS and not the Tahs.

I remember they had Carlton Draught at the trial match, but we got all excited too soon, it was gone by the time week 1 came around

Ratu !! Carraro is off to Bath. Batger hasn't been re-signed. Hopefully Playford is playing left right out. Doesn't leave us with much. Hangers will be regretting not taking that big money offer.

Anyway, I don't want to threadjack, just wanted to say good work, keep it up, & enjoy a virtual beer on me. :thumb

Cheers naz, as our biggest sponsor we should probably provide you with a hospitality box.

We could at least shout you a free ticket to a game (as long as you wore a bikini and fetched the beers all night).

I think its all good but, as Robbie would say, if you arent moving forward, you are going backwards. In that spirit, a couple of suggestions:

1. Why cant the comments on the front page and the forum be integrated? That way, if there is a story or a vid posted on the front page, there is a new topic in the forum. Comments on the front page are automatically put in the forum and comments on the forum go to the front page. Not sure how that works from a programming perspective, but I'm sure it can be done.

2. Remind people not to post mindless one liners that dont add to the subject at hand. We are all guilty of it from time to time but there are some serial offenders.

3. Keep up the good work.

1. OK, I'll raise that at the meeting.

2. It's always strange for me to hear complaints about one-liners. I remember Nicko getting warned on the Fern every 2nd day, but I thought his comments were often hilarious helped me to get through the morning. I guess I'm a serial offender too. Anyway, I'll note your comment on this and take it on board.

3. Cheers. Especially to Gagger and Moses who drive the content on the blog page. I reckon the analysis and attitude you get there is 2nd to absolutely none.

I like posts that are short, sharp and to the point. I skip posts where people write essays. Use the blog for that I say.

1. Integration is something I've looked at in the past, but is very involved.

There's a good article on the options over here. Of the options outlined in that article, bbpress has no migration path from smf and is pretty ordinary anyway, the smf integration script isn't supported and hasn't been updated in 2 years, which leaves vBulletin. Fortunately I already know vBulletin quite well having run gothetahs.com on it for 3 years.

If we were to go for it, migration path would look something like this:
- purchase vBulletin (US$160)
- install vBulletin, develop GAGR theme
- migrate smf content into vBulletin
- setup wordpress / vbulletin bridge

They served Hahn in plastic PET bottles once, the beer was drinkable-ish and service quick.

Plastic bottles are awesome, the best I've seen is Jade Stadium where you buy 4 packs of TUI with a (free) piece of carboard around the neck to carry them, and they refrigerate the entire island to ensure your beer stays at 2 degrees.

Could the new post button in the forum view say how many new post there are?
