Please post discussion of the teams, and the games themselves, in this thread.

Could somebody post a team if they know it and if possible list 1 to 15 and reserves, but if this is not known at the minute the 23 will do.

Thank you.

Anyone want to pick a winner? I dont have a lot of info on the teams outside NSW but I think NSW Schools will be had to beat, especially with the quality in there backline.

Anyone know how Queensland are shaping up?

Of course this is all speculation given that I know nothing of the other teams in the competitions from the other states. I do wonder if the extra games that Sydney and Country have had in preparation will play a part in their success. NSW Schools will have just one game in preparation for the tournament against Sydney.

Tigs, I'm hearing that the SJRU preparations are something of a shambles with cancelled training sessions, players not turning up and 'senior' players calling the plays. On the flip side I hear schools have been religiously training 3 times a week. Schools will absolutely thrash them in their trial.

One training session cancelled this week due to the finals for the village competition does not make a "shambles". As there are no CAS players considered good enough for the "Schools team" even though a lot of these guys have just played 15 first XV games with their school as well as actually play for their village teams on the Sunday. We will see what happens in the next few weeks at Newington. It's all too early to make any rash predictions.

Where would you have Tulloch in this team?

As Jones is in the Sydney team I'd have Kellaway at 15 and Tulloch at 12. He played there in the Presidents (GPS) U16s in the Schools Championships with Deegan (10) and Davis (9) inside him and was in my view the oustanding back at the Carnival. He'd have Tepai outside him at 13 running into some amazing holes.

With all due respect CTPE (and you of all people know that I'm a Tulloch fan) but you shouldn't dismiss Milne or Morgan so easily for the 12 spot.

the team from north of the nsw border is shaping up very well. with many players playing there second year they will be a very hard team to beat. been training for 2 months already, very well prepared

Do you mean Northern Territory? I believe the 2 QLD teams haven't been finalised yet. Started with 120, now down to about 65 for 46 postions.

sydney preparation is a whole different level compared to schools who went and played LAWN BOWLS today?

So, unless these boys are doing even more hours per week of demanding training (before some I expect play GFs at club) it's just not to your standard?

They also need time to relax and "bond" and have fun as a squad, before they hook into the hard stuff. Besides, they are all very experienced & talented footballers - just what extra fitness or individual skill do you want to impart to them, or perhaps burnout is a more attractive option for you - please have a think about how much rugby ALL the boys about to do nationals have done & the standard & intensity - week on week.

I understand that they need time to bond and relax, but how in anyway shape or form will that help their team on-field based cohesion? answer me that

Just love the selective quote - teamwork is sometimes best developed in non standard environments
