ha, I don't know. A ruck has certainly formed so McCaw is guilty of hands in the ruck, or possibly not coming through the gate, or going off his feet, or all of the above.
It could be said McCaw simply counter rucked effectively and that the ball was out so had every right to pick it up, but that seems like a stretch.

I loved your other video Scarf because it was warranted. But come on this just makes us look like a bunch of whingers. Fair enough that McCaw gets away with a lot. But so does Pocock. This will ultimately just be a thread where we moan about Kaplan, Joubert, McCaw and everyone else who gives us grief.

Nah, that won't happen.
Although, now you mention it, it does make me think that McCaw is turning rugby into soccer where games are decided by how much you get away with.

That and the Boks playing knocking-on and his teammate nonchalantly picking it up and not getting penalised, just called a knock-on.
A poor miss by the ref, but a fucking horrendous miss from the touchie. He was right there and saw it in front of his face, yet still said nothing.

As someone who talks to a lot of touch judges during games, often they are telling the ref, but the ref is choosing not to take heed. It obviously depends on the ref in the middle, and my coverage didn't have the full touchy-to-ref sound so I can't be sure in this game.
I've been told by many a touch-judge that the man in the middle is the only one in control of a game and his decision is the only one that matters. Apparently it can be as exasperating for them as it is for us.
