The ninth round of the Investec Super 14 closed last weekend with 301 tries having been scored to date in the competition. This compares favourably with the statistics compiled to the same stage of the 2006 and 2007 editions where the try-count at this point was 257 and 234 respectively. Last year, 304 tries had been scored after nine weekends of action.
