I have watched Rooney in about 4 games this year. He is looking the goods. Has the height required for a fullback as well.

anyone have any ideas as to his contract length? A Melbourne prospect?

Speaking of which I see Dallas Johnson is weighing up his options. He'd be worth pursuing I reckon. A non-fuss player without the flash, and a great work ethic. If anyone could make the switch, he could. Peter Ryan style, albeit Ryan played some schoolboy stuff. 183cm. 93 kgs (lightish) and only 27 this year. An option.

Strong effort for Toulon who rolled Saracens overnight... Played fullback and linked up well with Jonny Wilkinson (is that an odd combo or what??)

He's on a two year deal worth $1m+. He's shown enough that he would be offered another contract I would think. Plus he has a British passport which means he doesn't take a foreigners spot. So - would he want to come back?

Dunno Epi..that's the million dollar question. I think he's definitely Wallaby material at 15. How much is a world cup worth to him though?

Oz lacks decent back 3 players at the moment IMO.

Wouldn't he be more a crash ball 12?

I don't agree on Dallas Johnson, Noddy. He doesn't have the pace or skills for the backs and is too light weight for the pack. His only possible position would be 7, but as we all know there is no way a league player can make that jump.

I think he is also overated as a league player, and is only really good as a tackling machine which Qld League side seem to like one off in their team.

I watch the Toulon Sarries Match last night.. it was certainly a steady show by Luke. I think getting out of the Aussie spotlight is the key for our league boys. Send them away to learn the trade and come back when the story has calmed down.

Could be a good model.

But Noddy is right.. I'm not sure I would come back with Aus rugby in it's current state.
In fact - I wouldn't.
