That's horrible luck for Christian, and as often is the case, was from a piddling incident. He was in good form too and no doubt pencilled in for a step up.

His injury should force To'omua to play 10 with Gits moving out to 12. Though we don't celebrate harm to players, especially Oz players, most of us think that inside centre, further away from the back rowers at scrum time, is the best position for Giteau anyway, and the best for the Brumbies. He will still be 1st receiver in many rucks near the middle of the field.

The other alternative is to move Tyrone Smith to 12 which is his best position, and at the S14 level, his only position IMO.

The injury makes a nonsense of earlier suggestions that To'omua should have been lent to the Force when they had their injury problems. It doesn't happen in the real world these days, though Academy players, like Sheehan yonks ago, have been borrowed.

Im a big fan of Lealiifano, but this could be a blessing in disguise if they move To'omua to flyhalf n gits to inside centre.

Anyone heard any news if Lealifano/To'omua will be heading to the rebels. Would be a shame to lose one of them but if it means both of them get starting spots then i hope one goes!

when is Morty back?

Why do people not think they'll simply put Stirlo at 13 and Tyrone at 12?

Thought I saw something today saying he could be back next week. Don't get your hopes of of a To'omua/Gits combo just yet.

I won't believe Gits will be at 12 until I see it. Anyone else suspect that Gits insists on the 10 jumper?

Andy Friend ... and he knows what happens to Brumbies coaches who don't follow orders.

Shitter for anyone to get injured like that.

But was it over and above Rene Ranger tearing him a new one?

Poor bloke he played really well at 12. But the one positive is hopefully To'omua getting a go at 10 with Giteau at 12. Might be time to leave Mortlock on the bench as Smith looked a lot better at 13 than him. And with George Smith's injury I hope we go with either Michael Hooper or Colby Fainga'a as we should take a look at them before next year.

If i remember well, during the Last Brumbies vs Chiefs match, To'omua who has too strong of a leg power miscalculated a penalty kick for touch and it ended in the hands of a chiefs player. We had a great chance to score a crucial try that would have sealed the win and given us the 4 points we needed for contention into the Final four.

Lealiifano is the saviour who scored that final ball game against the Bulls at the Final whistle last season. I stand my ground. To'omua, Gits and Lealiifano shouldn't be on the same team. They should start drafting like they do in the NBA to avoid talent overload.

And I quote Graham Henry,"Colin Slade and Stephen Brett, Canterbury's reserve fly-halves, have been urged by Graham Henry to look elsewhere for game-time given the all-consuming spectre of Carter both with the Crusaders and now Canterbury. The Super 14 draft might be an option for next season, and it would be a brave and humble move for either player to undertake.

Still young, both players need to develop their game by playing, and as much as they may learn from Carter their time is better served learning the craft of being a fly-half rather than spending time on the wing or at fullback as with last season.

With the NZRU guaranteeing four to five home games per side from next season, fans also have a part to play in terms of helping these players. The competition has so much potential to excite in terms of discovering young talent - players that will later become the backbone of Super 14 franchises and also the All Blacks - but if the fans don't get through the turnstiles then it's all for naught. "

While most of you are cheering his return, I am not Optimistic; Just Skeptical. We have to defeat the Chiefs or face the same fate again. We are trailing for not gaining a single bonus point this far.

We felt Mortlock's absence through Rene Ranger's destruction. I would hate to Miss Lealiifano! He is a better 12 than Giteau at the moment and an even better Fly-half than Gits. Last season we were doing better at this stage of the competition with Lealiifano directing play. Bench Giteau or take him back to the Force or Rebels.
