Hey lads, hope you don't mind a personal request for help.

As some of you would know my lads are Waratah fans ( :-[) and asked for a jersey each for Christmas. Well we found a couple on line relatively cheap (two jerseys for $50 total, including delivery plus a Tahs cap each - :thumb). We went to Spotlight got a "1", "4" and "7" iron on transfers and now have a number 14 jersey (my eldest loves Lachie Turner) and a number 7 jersey (Mr Middle loves Phil Waugh). They look great and will be stoked.

My issue is that we could only find the white jerseys. So I just want to include in the package a picture of Waugh and Turner in those jerseys. I've got a decent shot of Waugh wearing one, just trying to track down one of Lachie. If anyone knows where I can find some half decent rugby shots of the Tahs (likely to be just the Bulls games). Have already tried the ARU and NSWRU sites.

Nah, leave it up. Reading about a Reds' supporter begging for photos of two Tah heroes gives me the most exquisite pleasure.

Oh no Noddy say it isn't so, how? why? It's that bloody Eddie Jones isn't.

I actually thought you were going to talk about how much bigger he looked on the spring tour, same goes for Lote he looked even bigger around the chest & he legs had definitely bulked up.

well, they weren't getting much time on the playing field, must have been in the gym a lot.

Personally, I can't understand why Lachie didn't get more game time, above Diggers.

To be fair, what Reds stars could his kids possibly look up to ?

Ioane seemed to get a lot of game time compared to Lachie's little. Digby's earned his spot ahead of Lachie in the pecking order and deserved his start in, what was it, four tests. But if Deans is serious about developing depth in every position Turner should've been given a bit more game on tour.

We now have five quality wingers to choose from: Hynes, Ioane, Mitchell, Turner & Tuqiri. But if Tuqiri's injured (highly possible) and our fullbacks all fall over, Mitchell's back to 15 and there's only one spare winger. Turner needs to be able to step in if required.

he has come around to Barnes, Lucas and Hynes, although Lachie is still the man! I expect our 2009 performances (and Lachie's complete lack of ball thanks to a very poor Tah pack) will sway him to the good side by next Christmas.

You are a far better father than I could be in such a situation, Noddy.

just think of the 21st party photos. Them in a Waratah jersey!!! They don't have sisters so there's none of them being dressed up in a skirt, so this is the next best thing.

John Eales, Tim Horan, Chris Latham

Although only Eales from that list was a "REAL" rugby player, but then again Lachie isn't either.

Know what it's like, eldest supports the Cannes and although I've managed to shame is brother off them and on to the beloved Sadders, son No.1 (Muss Jr) wont change just because he was born there.

But still could be worse like in your case and it being the Tahs.

I think he means current stars, Mainlander.

Personally though, I'd be pushing them towards the next Wallaby captain, Jimmy Horwill. They can certainly look up at him.

What a legend.

So we did the jersey thing etc, and the kids love them.

But that's now been surpassed. I had forgotten, back in the S14 last year my eldest son was flicking through one of my rugby mags and he likes to look at players' birthdays and see if they are in January (when his is). Anyway he worked out that Lachie Turner's birthday was coming up (it was sometime towards the end of the S14 season, I think whilst the Tahs were away in SAF and then back for the Reds game). So my son wanted to send him a birthday card. I got one and he told me what to write, then I wrote a blurb to Lachie explaining the situation. I then sent it to NSWRU and basically forgot about.

Then my wife just rang me and said a personal letter, from Lachie (signed), just arrived apologising for the late reply and saying that it was great they we were Reds fans who supported all states (but would prefer us to be Tahs fans who supported other states). He included a signed cap and said he hoped we got to Toowoomba (which we didn't) for the trial and that if we ever got to Sydney then he would get us free tickets to a Tahs game and to e-mail him. He gave us his e-mail address (which I think is just his Management Company).

But what a great little gesture. Well done Lachie and his management crew.

It looks your son has been now turned to the dark side.

much prefer this dark side to the real 'dark side'. But it's so damn hard for them to avoid the NRL what with all the work they, the Broncs and Titans do around the traps.

Noddy that is superb news and I can only imagine how stoked your little fella must have been.
