That's a good one.

Think us and Wales will struggle a bit more than usual due to top ups from about 1/2 the nations.

Well South Africa aren't going to die wondering! It'll be interesting to see how many of those 15s guys actually make it through the cuts.

NZ will be strengthened by the inclusions of Sonny Bill, Liam Messam and Ardie Savea, possibly some others.

Have any of our Wallabies or Super Rugby players, other than Speight and Quade, announced they'll be having a crack at 7's next year? Hopefully Gill and McMahon are there.

That's presuming we qualify, which will almost surely mean beating Samoa in a one off game. That's in just over a week and is no sure thing. Lose that and we'd have to win the repechage, which again would be no sure thing.

There's a lot of quality players going to miss the final cut for rio, I could only narrow it down to 16 players, that's after excluding several super players who could possibly be excellent 7's players.

Really looking forward to seeing how make the cuts and who doesn't. Sevens isn't the same game it was even 5 years ago, and the players are more specialized -- Liam Gill and Sean McMahon are good bridges between the games today. If some of the 15s converts make it, that's great, but there shouldn't be any expectations that they'll just walk on to the side. (Except -- Sam Burgess isn't trying out for the England 7s team, is he? I imagine he'd walk on, just for the leadership.)

We won all our games yesterday pretty comfortably. Even tho the opposition wasn't much chop. Cook Islands & Tonga plus one other, can't quite remember. But we put 49 on Tonga.

Edit: other game was vs rugby powerhouse Nauru

Today we play in the elimination games.
