The authors must have read Scotty Allen's GAGR article :D At least rugby is in the papers.

On four separate occasions Queensland’s centres raced in to a maul from a lineout play despite the referee not signaling the lineout had finished and players were free to join;

Interesting..

Horwill didn't miss! Palmer didn't mess around though.

I did feel sorry for Dan Palmer, innocently minding his own business and trampled by the reds pack. They really should have backed off and checked he was ok. It may have been a sudden attack of narcolepsy.

Why would you even bother putting that up? Brumbies payroll?

Nothing in the stomp / lovetap, but they have made their own list of grievances. How long can this rally go on?

Personally I love the barbs between Reds / Brumbies fans and coaches and think that it adds interest and sells tickets and is therefore good for the game.

More chat!

I love the love tap with the boot, it made my entire days excitment complete. I think I was almost looking forward to this game as I did the grand final a couple of years back. This is the moment that a new rivalry between the Reds and the Brumbies began. This is great for the game and will build even more hatred and competition between the teams.

One thing I do hate they Wil Genia does all the time is his idea that a quick tap in Rugby involved tapping the ball on his foot and then passing it. My understanding is that the ball must be kicked. I truly hope that somebody (link) pulls him up on this before he gets done for something so inconsequential in a test match.

Unless of course there has been a ruling on this that I have missed?

I saw a Brumbies player on the grassy knoll.

I know the Reds prepared a loose deforming surface at Suncorp specifically for this game Sully but none of those ruts cause by the Reds front row diving to the turf were really big enough to be called Knolls.

Good spot, I saw this mentioned somewhere else, and indeed he seemed to do this a few times. I'm sure Marto would call it "technical", but we've seen it picked up in Tests in recent years, and it would be a shocker to happen in a pressure Test situation this year. Personally, I think it's a bit silly, but Genia should know better (and I'm sure he does).

Every forward knows that if you attempt to collapse a maul then getting trampled is the risk you run..

I seem to have missed this. I'm with the above. Probably old age or familiarity meant it didn't register. I remember a test in NZ in about 1978 when the AB halfback (Donaldson?) got a bit adventurous and ended up getting physically rucked out of the back of the Australian ruck. Bit more of that and the break down would be sorted.

Sorry, didn't realise was a pro reds forum only. He did kick him in the head deliberately though and I've seen people red carded for less than that in test matches (Shaw V NZ I think it was) . I thought the whinging article was funny as was Scott Allen's whinge on the front page. Just balancing the whinging.

I was interested in the maul observation.

I meant the website. Not you. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

This turned up last week on GaGR's youtube channel, haven't seen it being discussed here?

The stomp I saw real time and thought it was done on purpose, I doubt he'd get away with that in a test.
He shouldn't be captain of anything.

And on other news, how bloody good were the Tahs!!!!

Everyone still whining about this or that call is tarnishing a great game of rugby, IMO. Lots of us, me included, had problems with the refereeing in that game but I reckon both Scott's article and this stuff from the Canberra Times look, at this point, like sour grapes -- regardless of whether they're right or not.

For all the talk of cards and penalties, in the last two minutes of the game, both teams kicked away possession and didn't play to win.
